Facebook Changes Default Email to Facebook Email

What? You didn’t know you had a Facebook email? No one did.

Today, Facebook changed everyone’s default email, the contact email that you have displayed on your Facebook profile Timeline, to a Facebook Email. The email that you chose to have displayed will stay hidden until you change your settings. The change was made without warning or consent, but that’s how Facebook seems to be doing things nowadays. Good news is that it’s an easy fix that will only inconvenience you for a little bit.

So if you’d like to change your default back to the old email of your choice here’s what to do:

  • Go to your Facebook Profile
  • Click on Account Settings or click on the “About” button on your profile
  • Under your General Account settings/ Basic Info you’ll see your “Contact Info”
  • Edit Email
  • Check “Shown in Timeline” or “Hidden from Timeline” on each of your contact emails listed to display (or not display) the emails of your choice

    ok maybe i’m weird, but i’m not seeing it. my regular email is still my default, and I don’t see anywhere to show or hide on my timeline, at least not according to the directions above

    I love how we ‘find out’ how things get changed by a 3rd party…

    I think Zynga should go out on their own…yeah, yeah, yeah, I know they have a 5 year deal with Facebook and had to shut down the FV.com site as a result…but if Zynga wants to be successful, they need to look out for their players…Not what Facebook wants.

    so wrong on SO may levels. leave it to Zuckerburg’s Grandparents to really try and keep tabs on all of us. they can’t suck off the $ with the Stock so now they are doing this? WTF!?

    Well ‘BIG Brother’ is at it again. In my opinion all they want to do is know who we are ‘talking’ to and what we are saying. When ‘THEY’ set up ‘OUR’ accounts it will be real easy for them to just POP in and read everything we are doing. I for one changed mine and maybe I’ll have a little privacy.

    I am having problem with requesting my Farm Ville ‘s friends to support me to rescue the lost animals. Recent “Merle Corgi” I had to buy as the time expires today.

    anyone know why facebook and farmville are down this morning?
    both say web page cannot be found. anyone else have this problem this morning, thx
