Farmville Level Up Faster!

Posted on October 24, 2009 10:11 am by FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess

Many people want to know the quickest way to Level Up in Farmville.

It is pretty easy to get through Levels 1-25. As you gain levels, you can grow more expensive crops that yield more coins, thus increasing your profit. There are tons of charts and spreadsheets that people have put together dictating which crop is the best crop to grow.

Farming after Level 25 can get tedious. It is more difficult to level up because more XP (experience poitns) are needed to advance.

What you do to level up at this point is up to you. Some people prefer to just continue playing the game as always, despite how slow leveling up may become. Then, others (you know the ones- the people always looking for loopholes and ways to beat the system) well they have more creative means of leveling up.

Here are a few tips/cheats/tricks for faster Leveling up using the least amount of coins and NO FV$:  Warning! Both of these methods are time consuming and require several steps to gain the maximum XP, which is why I myself can’t commit to either of them.

The Soybean Plow-Plant-Delete Method: This procedure will have you plowing land, planting soybeans and then deleting all your hard work immediately! Soybeans are the cheapest crop that yields the most XP (it doesn’t matter how long it takes for it to grow because we won’t be waiting for it to grow).

1. Plow Land:  -15 coins, gain +1 XP

2 Plant Soybean: -15 coins, gain +2 XP

3. Delete Plot of Soybean: 0 coins, 0 XP

(Repeat steps as desired)

Total XP gained/plot = 3 XP   with loss of only 30 coins.

Buying/Selling Hay: This procedure has you buying lots of hay and then selling it. It will require some space on your farm to put the hay as well as enough coins to fund how many bales of hay you plan on buying.

1.Buy hay.  -100  coins, gain+ 5 XP

2. Sell hay. +5 coins

(Repeat steps as desired)

Total XP gained/hay = 5 XP with loss of 95 coins

Deleting the hay instead of selling it will increase the speed of leveling up.
You will loose the 5 coins but thats worth it!

  2. mikeMaster Says:

Thanks for letting us know that.
i was already aware of that .
    keep up the good work!

  4. Jungle Jil Says:

Here is the simplest, best way to level up. You just have to be willing to invest the time (and just a bit of money).

    1. The first most important thing: Increase the size of your farm to 20 x 20 as soon as you possibly can. That’s the most important thing. Personally, I went out and spent $15 on $FV and paid cash to upgrade my farm size.

    2. The second most important thing: Don’t buy stuff. Instead, create 400 places to plant crops (20 times 20 spaces).

    3. Start off planting strawberries. Harvest every 4 hours on the dot. Set your alarm for the middle of the night, because you’ll need to get up and harvest. You’ll be earning 800 XP every time you harvest (400 for ploughing, 400 for harvesting) up to 6 times per day for 4,800 XP (800 x 6) every day.

    4. When blueberries become available, start planting them instead because they make more money. Keep on harvesting every 4 hours without fail… keep getting 4,800 XP every day.

    5. Eventually (at about level 30), after you’ve harvested about 15,000 blueberry patches, you’ll get your 3-star mastery. Then, you’ll be getting an additional 130 (or so) XP with every harvest, for an additional 700 (or so) XP every day… for a total of 5,500 XP (4,800 + 700) every day.

It worked for me: I started playing Farmville 14 days ago, and I am currently level 32. If anybody has a way that will consistently level you up faster than that, feel free to post it here.

  5. Lauren Says:

    @ Jungle Jil.

Err…I like my sleep and social life. That seems pretty exhaustive and almost neurotic. You might want to check out this post…. http://farmvillefreak.com/?p=595

  6. Jungle Jil Says:

Heheh. I didn’t say it was the sanest way to level up… just the best / most effective.

  7. Jungle Jil Says:

(And, I should admit, my wife handles the midnight planting since she is up at that hour and I am not. I do the other 4 plantings each day… and her early-morning planting when she is asleep.

  8. Jason Says:

Holy crap that is some dedication. And I thought I was addicted.

Regarding the expansion, I completely agree that this is the most important factor (along with making the best use of your available space), however I’d suggest against getting out the checkbook.

During my first week, I went to all of their free offers and located the “install a game and get between 4 and 9 FV” method. there are about a dozen of these and you don’t need to send any personal information or more importantly, cash to get FV.

Once installed, I used a few different un-installation programs to make sure I removed every trace of the installed software and viola! A 20×20 farm for free in a couple of hours.

  9. Sonic Says:

Jungle Jil, I would never think of doing that. You’re a true FarmVille Freak.

I usually plant grapes on my 288 plots of land every day. Only 864XP every day, but it adds up quickly. Buying buildings, though expensive, give you loads (but I’m not sure anyone would want to do that ;)

  10. Jungle Jil Says:

For those of you not willing to get up at midnight and 4 a.m. to harvest crops, you can always plant pumpkins (first) and tomatoes (second) for the overnight part… but planting strawberries and then blueberries during the day every 4 hours is still the best way to go.

  11. Mclarko Says:

If you’ve got lots of coins, and you want to level up quick, buy Cherry Trees. They’re 225, and get you 5XP whereas everything else that costs that much just gets you 2XP. Planting trees is quicker than planting crops and deleting them. Sell the trees when you’re done, or keep them to get the Tree Hugger award.

  12. farmgoddess Says:

@ Jungle Jil, you are a true Farmville Freak! :)

  13. Simon Says:

@mclarko: haybales are even better, 5 xp per 100 coins,
i did that sometimes when i was very close to a levelup, but overall it is just too tedious for me

  14. Lannes Says:

The free way to level up quickly is fertilizing – get lots of neighbors (I have 426 myself) and spend your time fertilizing – you get to fertilize each neighbor once a day and you can get up to 6 XPs at each farm (one for cleaning and up to 5 for the fertilizing). If I get to fertilize 300 neighbors each day, that is an extra 1800 XPs daily and it doesn’t cost me any coins! (Just remember to start with your lower level neighbors since their farms load faster).

  15. Dom Says:

What I do is use crops that take one day and I work out what one gets me most money.
At the moment i’m at level 21 and I use grapes and I harvest my crops everyday after school. Once when I had the whole day off I did the strawwberry thing but I like just going on it everyday just the once.

  16. Anna Says:

I just dont get it. How do you delete crops???

  17. FarmerKezo Says:

WHOA Jungle jill, I love your ideas of the strawberries… but I could never do that :/ I will try though ;)

  18. farmer Avila Says:

hey getting neighbors helps for getting coins,Xp, fertilzer and expanding your farm so invite me for your nighbor just put farmville in your friend request avilachris02009@gmail.com

  19. ADG Says:

What are FV dollars and how do you earn them?????

  20. rachel alexandra Says:

    @ Anna,

Delete crops with the red-handled tool next to the green-handled plow tool.

  21. rachel alexandra Says:

    @ ADG,

There are FV coins and FV dollars … they sometimes buy the same things so you can use either coins or dollars but there are some things you can only with FV dollars. On the toolbar across the top of your farm, the last tab says “Add Farm Coins and Cash”. Click on that and it will give you options on how to obtain either.

  22. Zidel333 Says:

I just tried the Soybean method…it seems so tedious on a farm my size. But hay and the cherry tree method seems very expensive. Gah! There are no answers. :(

  23. Humera Says:

wait wait wait. wat is that cherry tree method???? i ve found soybean the most effective n cheapest way instead of waking up or rushing from other works to farmville after every 4 hrs or so.do that soybean work for 2 hrs. n get the benefit n thn plant coffe n chill till nest day. n make ur frndz shocked who r wrking for months to reach where u reach in weeks ; ).

  24. sumera Says:

    hey!
ill tell ya one gud way
    fr earning the “architect” ribbon…
    wen u have sum cash… simply go n buy some.. 15-20 tents :D :D
n den.. ull gradually get the red and den d blue ribbon… d red ribbon will give ya.. around.. 5000 coins and blue one 10000 coins…plus.. ull get experience!!! i guess blue one gives u sum 500 xp.. aint a bad deal fr 5000 bucks! (cuz u spend 20000 and get bk 15)
well dis is just a one time trick.. bt wokred fr me..u cn also sell off the rest tent fr 50 coins each.. nad u also get xp fr building it.. like uhm.. 10 xp per tent!:)

  25. DmC Says:

i like all of your ideas, but dont you people like costumizing your farms? i really want the band stage. does anyone wanna be my farmville neighbor? i still need one friend to buy the 20*20 plot

  26. DmC Says:

and i am at level 25

  27. amber Says:

I maxed my farm (all crops with trees and animals around the edge), and found myself with over 1 million coins by about level 28.
I bought my way to the blue ribbons for architect (rest tents) and the decoration one (hay bales). resold all the junk once I got blue ribbon to get some of the coin back.
Then I bought a bunch of windmills- they are 100k coins, but I could afford it, and they give 1,000 XP each.
My farm is still maxed with crops, and I got level 34 last night. I have about 700k in coins. Once I can afford the Villa and a few other decorations I’m going to scale back on the crops and make a pretty farm.

  28. Jacob Says:

My something like the windmill (or green house) you get just as much xp for, the ratio of money spent, ($100 000 = 1 000 xp) (ratio = 1:100) and you wont tun into a insane mad farmer buy the end of all the clicking planting and deleting it takes to do it the other way (plus you can make a good fortune of the money back after by selling it!

  29. Humera Says:

dear if buy sell is they way n wanna make it more quick in 1 xp for 100 coins just buy wind mill i was doing it but that way u r left with no coins. cheapest is 1 xp to 10 coins soybean method n that way u r not dependend on having so much coins.

any body know any way to make fv cash.. itried a few but useless.

  30. allen klesh Says:

Well, I do the soybean way, BUT I used a macro to run it. I cleared out a spot. Started recording the macro, dug 10 plots (1XP) planted the haiti coffee beans (3XP) dug them all up changed back to the spade and then saved the macro script setting it to loop over and over again.

I didn’t have to sit there and do it was able to level up to 32 from 28 within 3 days. It’s not perfect. If you got any kind of other window popping up, (help me with my farm), you’d have to restart it. But it does work.

  31. Kevin Says:

    any1 wanna add me neighbour?im lvl31… add me>>>>>(hohanhui_93@hotmail.com)<<<<<add me

  32. Michael Says:

Farmville should make like a multi-delete thing so we don’t have to delete 1 at a time; takes forever.

  33. meli Says:

i think a better way to get the architect ribbon is buying a dairy farm each cow you ‘ll move inside is gonna count as a building.

  34. Humera Says:

y not buy tents of rq. qtty it give ribbn in few mins, m done all ribons, by that way

  35. that guy Says:

ur all freaks, does no one here have a social life. i just came on to find out if there were any clever shapes u cudmake out of hay bales

  36. That other guy Says:

Well Guy, the damn topic of this is “Level up faster!”, NOT “how to make clever haybale shapes, because I’m too stupid to have any imagination myself”…. *sigh*

But yeah, the Dairy farm might be the easiest and cheapest way to get the architect ribbon. It seems like a bug, so better hurry to get the achievement before it’s fixed. :P

And just thanks for some great hints to get faster xp! :)

  37. brent Says:

for those of you planting strawberries…(this isn’t a faster way of leveling, but it’s better money for those who apply to the message first written)

honestly, raspberries give some decent cash and are the same xp as strawberries if you put it in this perspective:

    raspberries:
    2 hours to grow.
    1 xp for plowing. – 15 coins
    0 xp for planting. – 20 coins
0 xp for harvesting. +46 coins.

    strawberries:
    4 hours to grow
    1 xp for plowing. – 15 coins
    1 xp for planting. – 20 coins
0 xp for harvesting. +45 coins.

overall…1 xp per patch and 11 coins profit for raspberries.
so double that because strawberries are 4 hours
per harvest. so that’s 2 xp and 22 coins profit per patch
every 4 hours versus strawberries where it’s 2 xp and 10 coins profit
    per patch every 4 hours.

just a little hint for those of you short on coins.
i’ve found that this is some of the best money as of yet.
i’m only level 16 though. just started.

  38. april Says:

well, i hope you can tell us what’s the exact cheat. that’s all. thanks. :)

My current coin 22M with some expensive buildings, .. and have reached level 70. :)

  54. Ronda Says:

I need to get the 24×24 upgrade, how do I do that? Is it # of friends you have or the level/exp you have? I’m stuck with stuff I can’t use because I have no more room.

  55. Dalston Says:

I’m exactly a month old on Farmville Today. I used all the tips and today, exactly 31 days since i started, I have a Villa costinf 1,000,000 and 100,000 XP. People laughed at me coz my farm was not developed. Now I have overtaken all of them & I have the last laugh…

  56. Lindsey Says:

An even better and quicker way to level up is to wait until you have a ton of money from all of the planting and harvesting, then buy larger and expensive buildings for the XP. I have bought several houses and then just sold them when I was done getting the XP. Keep buying and selling real estate. Just always make sure that your field is full of growing crops before you use up all your coins on this. Then, just wait until you have a lot of $ again. Also, there is the new ribbon called Fenced In, or something… just clear a spot on the farm and put tons of fences in rows. You’ll get the XP for the fences, then all the XP for earning the ribbons….

  57. george0987654321 Says:

hey i’m george thanks for all the tips

  58. Tomalyn Chalmar Says:

In answer to a couple of questions:

I heard on the Zynga podcast today that the 24 x 24 will be made available very soon now. And they said something about if you’re signed up as a fan, you’ll get access to be before the rest of us unsubscribed farmers. There was also some discussion about the possibility of an even larger farm or expansion possibilities in the future.

Also heard that the current top level is 70 but there is speculation it may increase.

I built a real nice farm and then had to quit and delete. Rebuilding now. Have used the plow/plant/delete with the soybeans when I want to get up a level to unlock something I want/need. Yes, tedious but it works. Try it with the LIMITED TIME Haiti corn. The corn is even cheaper than the soybeans + you get 3 xp rather than just the 2xp you would get with soybeans and they say the corn never wilts.

I believe that those gold coins that pop up when you’re plowing just might accumulate to add FV. Because I know you get 1FV when you level up but I’ve always got extra somehow. Very likely it comes from the gold coins thrown up during plowing. BTW….you don’t have to try to catch those coins or anything. ;-) I have seen them add 50 coins to my coin total. Perhaps that is a random amount but it’s been pretty consistent when I’ve been able to keep track. When do they come up? That has been totally random…100 plows….30 plows….139 plows.

Happy to get new neighbors: TLChalmar@gmail.com

    Happy farming all. ;-)

  61. Hirotaka Akira Suzuki Says:

Well I am a level 28 on farmville. It took me a while though. I usually don’t play that much since i have a life and i would like to think that i have more “Recreational” things to do than sit in front of my computer watching a farm and at the same time mess up my eyesight.

You could make up a fake facebook profile and add your self and fertilize your own crops and feed your chickens and give yourself gifts and other whatnots that make this game fun for people. I have two of these that i make give me stuff. The best tree is the ornament tree then it is the olive tree so when you can get them and the sunflowers are pretty good to.

I heard from some of my smart japanese friends that there are ways to hack into farmville and do whatever. There once was a glitch to get infinate chicken pens. I have 30 of them. But if you aren’t asian and can’t hack don’t worry.

    Well so long farmvillers!

The soybeans thing is a good idea, but my Farmville is showing them as only 2 xp now. :/

  64. carly Says:

hey, for those of you wonderin how to get fv cash, rather than spendin ur $, you can do this:

Mystery gifts sometimes have fv $’s inside so ask friends for lots of those or do what i did (shhhh) use any old emails or use gmail to make a quick one and make a bogus facebook and send urself gifts. i get bout 5 gifts a day countin other friends sendin me stuff and about 1/5 chance of gettin fv $ so about one a day.

also, every time u level up you get a fv $ so use all the tricks above to get leveled up.

also, theres something called a farmville bonus pack goin around. i got one from my friend, and in it you get i think 3 fuel refills an unwither, 3 fv $’s and ur choice of 10 horse stable parts, 10 eggs, or somethin else i don remember. u r only allowed to get one ever in ur life but its still free and stuff just ask ur friends.

    thts all 4 nowz!!!!!!!!!!

  65. pidod Says:

just plant a high xp plant that only takes a day to ripe or 2,3,4…… days depending how many hours you play it and harvest it and plant it again anad again………. try it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  66. iji kure Says:

i play farmville since May 10th, i’m level 52, i advance one level a day, i use only 539 plots for crops, i harvest ginger and lots of calves and trees once a day to get enough coins for deleting soybeans 5 times every day and right now i’m stuck in this boring, time-consuming routine. :|

do you have a better plan in advancing one level each day (or faster), without working too much?

  67. keiji Says:

what’s the difference between soybeans, hay bales and buildings methods of leveling up?

let’s take 1,000,000 coins and see what we get with different methods:

    * with buildings you get 10,000 XP

    * with hay bales you get 50,000 XP, which means 5 times more than buildings

    * with soybeans you get 100,000 XP, which means 10 times more than building, and twice than hay bales.

does this look clear or not?

    p.s.
    soybeans = 2 XP for seeding + 1 XP for plowing = 3 XP

  68. iji kure Says:

it is possible to plant forget-me-not (with bushels for those under level 90) instead of ginger, but it comes with a tripling or quadrupling the necessary coins.

for example, one would need to start:

    477 plots (22×22) & 353,000 coins & 120 calves

    or

    556 plots (24×24) & 412,000 coins

    in comparison with:

    538 plots (24×24) & 100,000 coins & 102 calves & ginger mastery

for those wondering, it’s been another month and I’m level 77, but I’ve stopped deleting soybeans :)

  69. my fun gang Says:

after 26 x 26 is the maximum farm size ?

  70. Taha Ameen Says:

    hi everyone,
Thx for the tips. I’m doing good at arnd 8000 xp per day and am currently at level 72.
On my plot size of 512, planting, plowing and harvesting fertilized blackberries give me 512*4 =2048 xp per 4 hrs. Since I still go to school, I plant white grapes at 11am and harvest them after i return, and continue wid da black berries.
For those of u who do not have enough space in ur farm for haybales, once you have barren land (land after u harvest any crops) delete few plots using the recycle tool and place haybales in the obtained space. Once ure done with that, u can use ur tractor, or the plow tool to get back the plot!
    :)

I TELL YOU THE FASTEST, BEST AND HAVING FUN AT THE SAME TIME, YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR FARM WORK FOR YOU, AND THATS BY BEING IN THE MARKET, TELL YOU ABOUT THAT LATER ON…. FOR NOW YOU NEED TO BUY NOTHING, JUST EXPAND THE LAND, GET AS MANY NEIGHBORS AS YOU CAN AND SAVE COINS………….IN ABOUT LEVEL 25 THE GAME WILL OFFER YOU ONE CRAFTING BUILDING (BAKERY, WINERY OR SPA) GET ONE. NOW THIS ITS WHERE LOTS OF PEOPLE MAKE THE MISTAKE, THEY JUST PUT THE BUILDING IN A CORNER FOR DECORATION, I SAID PUT IT IN BUSINESS BECAUSE THIS ITS WHERE THE XP REALLY AT, FOR EVERY “GOOD” YOU MAKE YOU GET 50XP, THE BUILDINGS HAVE 5 LEVELS, EACH LEVEL HAVING 3 TO 5 RECIPE, AS YOU MAKE AND SELL “GOODS” YOU LEVEL UP THE BUILDING. TO MAKE GOODS YOU WILL NEED BUSHELS, TWO WAYS TO GET THEM, GROWING IT YOURSELF OR GOING TO THE MARKET AND HOPE ONE OF YOUR NEIGHBORS HAVE THE BUSHEL YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THE GOOD. YOU WILL NOTICE ITS GET HARD SOMETIMES TO MAKE GOODS, FOR THAT I PICK ONE RECIPE AT A TIME AND JUST WORK ONE THAT ONE.
