FarmVille Adds DOUBLE Storage: Increase your storage with another Barn Raising!

In maybe one of the greatest updates ever, FarmVille added DOUBLE storage on April 27th, 2010.
Yay for more storage! Thank you for listening to all of us begging farmers. Your storage capacity is now at 200! Originally, maximum storage was 100 items.
You have two options of upgrading your current storage system. The free option is holing a good old fashioned Barn Raising party and enlisting the help of your FarmVille neighbors to upgrade your barn. The other way is directly purchasing the storage expansion with farm cash, which is available in the FarmVille Market.

You can store more than ever with the new Storage Expansion! Please find a quick guide on how this feature works below.
Storage Expansion:
You can now increase the capacity of your Storage Buildings. Each of your storage buildings can be upgraded twice. The first upgrade will provide you with 5 extra storage and the second upgrade will provide 7 extra storage. The two upgrades will give you 12 extra storage spaces in total.There are two ways to expand your Storage.
1)The first way to expand storage is to pay Farm Cash. If you wish to purchase the storage upgrade with FarmVille cash (10 FC), you can do so by clicking the “BUY” button.
2) Alternatively, you can hold a Barn Raising, by clicking the “Expand Storage” button. After choosing to expand your storage, you will receive a pop-up, clicking the “okay” button will allow you to post a feed to your wall.
After posting your feed, you will have 3 days to have 10 of your friends click on your feed. (Each of your friends can help ONCE per day (24 hours). Up to a total of 3 times (once per day) during the Barn Raising. This means you do not necessarily need 10 unique friends.
When you click on a friends feed asking for Barn Raising, you will receive 100 coins.
If you wish to “give up” on the barn raising, you can click the “GIVE UP” button and the barn raising will cease.Please keep in mind that you can only raise 1 storage item at a time.
If you do not manage to get 10 clicks on your feed in three days, you can purchase the storage upgrade at a discounted price equilavent to the amount of clicks you recieved.
The closer you manage to get to 10 clicks, the cheaper it will be to purchase with Farm Cash.” (Source: Official FarmVille Forum)

Does anyone know why the farmville.com game feed only shows one bonus now, insetead of a bunch of stuff? Or is this only happening to me? It only shows the most recent one.

They should sort the issues rather than messing around with new stuff……I have new neighbours and I cant see them on my farm for days…………They really should iron out the ongoing issues with Farmville.

Well now I’m really pissed. Just sold a bunch of stuff cause I was out of room & then they go & double it. Zynga, can I have my stuff back pretttttttyyyyy pleaseeeeeee. You don’t want to give it back …oh well what can I do. I will still farm I guess…….when I can get back on anyway. LOL

I knew they were going to double the storage real soon rather than expand the land. I just sold a bunch of stuff to get the modern theme. I hope they expand the stables and the garden sheds also.

what does it mean that they double storage? I refreshed the farm for 4/5 times and was able to look whats going on, I saw new adobe storage still 15 and 22 items, I dont know though if they are talking about barn raising. Btw, there is a new cool stuff, havent tried yet, its in upgrade, with 1000 coins you can make it look like dessert. I will do that! No money for anything to buy, and btw, they have some walls, adobe style which you can buy with coins(900), and 2 cactus, $3 and $2.

farm didnt load.. well no news there.. saw the announcement screen for the new buildingsa and the new storage…but…when my farm finally loaded..my barn storage was the same.. and i looked to see if i needed to expand…says my barn is fully expanded at 78…is it the barn or the gift box thats now at 200?

So apparently this is option is only being given to some farmers. My storage is still 100 and if I try to store anything I get a pop-up that says my storage is full and I will have to sell items for more storage space. I actually buy FV cash, but I’m pretty much done with Zynga and will not spend another cent until they get their act together!!! Thanks for bragging Zynga!!!!

Oh, I’m so eager for the double storage but it’s not working at all for me. Still says capacity is at 100, no available upgrades, and if I try to store something it says it is full.

Not sure why my last comment is awaiting moderation, but…I’m confused. I have 3 barns that I bought with farmcash. My storage went from 100 to 128. Do I have to buy more storage? I don’t have any more room on my farm for another barn. Especially when we have these buildings coming out for the Farmer’s Market. Where are we supposed to put all these buildings? Can’t they make them smaller? Would someone please explain how this storage thing works to me?

I have upgraded by barns and storage sheds but still do not get 200 storage areas…I have 4 barns and 6 storage sheds (156 stored items). Do I have to buy more storage shed which only hold 14 items each…cannot buy anymore barns (limit is 4).

I am a relative newbie–how do I get storage of 200 items?? I bought a barn (w/coins) and the most storage I get is 18. Bought another and crazy thing is I didn’t get more storage it shows the same items I have in thefirst one. What gives? Do you have to use real money to get the large storage capacity?? I feel so dumb but learning.

You know— this WOULD be a really nice thing, except 200 items is like 10 barns. Seriously, they need to upgrade the amount that a barn can hold rather than the total amount of items stored. This is really ****ty to be honest.

My storage went up from 100 to 150. I put a few more things in there and was able to. I didn’t buy any new buildings, but I had a total of 150 available storage (if you added everything up of the sheds and barns I own) but since 100 was the limit, that’s what I was limited to. So now I have 150 storage, and I ASSume that they mean the total you CAN have is 200, doubled from 100. NOT that they were going to double your current storage capacity…

Have you expanded the barns you bought…ask for old fashion barn raising? click on the barn should see inventory and expand storage button. click on expand …a new window will appear to post on your wall for your friends/neighbors to help.

My storage went from 100 to 156 with one additional barn raising, but the only way to add more storage is to buy more storage sheds…but where to put it. Still it wont add up to 200. Wish they just automatically make it 200 like they upgraded the chicken coop with getting another one. I know they plan to upgrade the stable, garden shed and dairy barns. Soon I hope!

i only have 1 barn and tool shed (both expanded as far as they can go) because i don’t have room for anything else! yet my storage is only at 32. they keep coming up with more stuff but you can’t do anything with it. i just would rather have a bigger plot of land!

Do we need to buy a new Barn?? How do we increase the limit of the Barns that we already have. we already dont have space in the farm, let alone buy another barn!!!!!!!!! I like FV but not as much simply spend cash!!!!

Great. I Sold 2 brown barns that had been fully expanded last night. I needed the space, and since they didn’t add to my storage, right…..? Nice one, Farmville. What a waste of my time and farm cash. I want them back, but do you care? No!
This extra space is a welcome addition, but it annoys me that we should EVER have to sell things we paid cash for because there was no way to store them.

I too had a limit of 100. However, the limit is now 200. I bought a few of the very small new sheds that barely take up any room at all, and am now at the max of 200. The 4 small sheds fit in a smaller space than 1 Huge Barn. Well worth it

Is it so difficult to understand what doubling the storage means? Previously you could only store a maximum of 100 items in your storage buildings. Garden sheds can store 14 items, so if you bought 10 garden sheds you could only store 100 items instead of 140. With this upgrade you can now store 140 items with 10 garden sheds.
SO THEY DOUBLED THE MAXIMUM STORAGE.

This is actually pretty stupid. Looks like you have to BUY MORE storage sheds to upgrade them to get up to the 200. I was at the maximum of 100 but my storage only increased to 113 because all my storage building were already fully upgraded. And it will not allow me to expand them further. They didn’t double the capacity of each storage shed. So now we have no room on the farms and if we want more storage, we have to get more storage sheds or barns. Do they actually think this stuff out before doing it?? I’ve just about had it with their stupid updates that don’t help.

I can’t increase my storage either. It shows me 108 I have 2 barns and 4 sheds 1 coop. I would click on exspand storage and NOTHING…. So is something going on with this new addition? Do they need to fix yet another issue,problem?

ok=apparently there are different type of storage barns==FV cash and coins. I went back to my barn clicked on to expand it. Orginal capacity was 6 items I have expanded 3x so I am at 18. That’s all it says I can do. How does one get 100 storage let alone 200?? How many barns/sheds do you need to have to get that capacity and what am I doing wrong as my 2nd barn showed the same items in it as my 1st when I “looked inside”??

Guys, you have to buy more barns and sheds. Your maximum storage capacity has been increased from 100 to 200, not the storage in the buildings you already own. Spend some coins and buy some more buildings. And to the people way above who want unlimted storage, you will probably be the first ones complaining when the game slows to a crawl due to all of the excess items in storage.

Farmgoddess # 80 – you are mistaken because evidently you do have to purchase additional barns/sheds to get the expand. The expansion is not in your existing storage bldgs.
@giftbuyer – different sheds and barns hold different amounts and the ones you buy for fvcash hold more than the coin ones. I think in order to hold the maximum of 200 you might have to buy some of the fvcash ones.

Can anyone please clarify I have 2 regular coin red barns and 2 regular white/blue coin storage sheds. Everything was already fully expanded. Since the update it appears the same… there is not an option to expand again. Does this mean I have to buy a new barn or extra barns help thanks!

Ok so are we not back where we started from in the first place? I am wanting to store items in barn to free up space, if I am having to purchase additional barns and storage buildings then is that not defeating the whole purpose in expanding storage space? I did the barn raisings. Only increased storage space by 5 items. Had to purchase a storage building, did another “raising”. Storage space with both the barn and storage building with all “raisings” completed only increased my storage from 34 to 39. I can’t even get storage space to 50 let alone 100…and 200 is not to be seen. So basically what I am taking from this whole “expansion” thing is that I have to purchase even more barns or storage buildings. So I’m having to swap one building with another therefore not being able to clear up any space on my farm?????? I don’t get it.

Hummm I wonder where I can get a correct synopsis of this storage thing. I have the European barn and shed and they can’t be expanded and seem to share the same amount of storage. Also that barn, which cost farmville dollars couldn’t be toilet papered. I’m with most of you, I don’t want another barn or shed. It doesn’t fit with my theme or space. So, is it just with new ones you buy?

i have already hid my sheads with trees…so not to have to look at them…and have two barns taking up my barn yard…if i dont have room for my things or animals where the h**l am i gonna put another barn….so mad today logged on and my fv$ is gone
if you will be away from your farm and cant feed your coin dogs trap them with your farmer and they can not run away….save you from paying fv $ to get them back….i am having problems with my gift box click to get it open and the co-op opens instead …very frustrating….ok sorry so long …HAPPY FARMING… please Zynga gods give us land expansion ….lol i pray to the Zynga gods daily for this …..

I think I have it figured out. The 200 capacity is only if you have all fvcash barns/sheds. I wish Farmgoddess would come and explain why she said that buying additional storage was not necessary. All of my existing storage had been raised to the limit before and there was no option to expand again. Did anyone see an option to expand again??
I am buying the pink sheds because they expand so much more then the ones for coins and I guess I will sell the ones I had bought for coins and replace them with pink ones and that is how I will get the maximum that I can get. I know I won’t get 200 because my barn is the one for cash and I don’t want to buy another barn. This is getting very expensive.

I guess I am going to trade in my coin barn for fvcash barn because it holds so much more. 18 expanded versus 60. Three fv barns = 180 capacity and one fv shed = 20… so there’s your 200

Seems very stupid to me, they have increased the limit of storage buildings you can buy, NOT the amount of items the buildings can store… wouldn’t that make more sense since we store items to save space? (-_-)

I can only get to 187 storage slots 6 huge red barns 18 x 6 = 108
5 huge storage sheds 5 x 14 = 70
1 large storage shed = 7
1 storage shed = 2
Anyone know about a storage building limit?
