In an update made on 01.26.10, FarmVille released the Cunning Collector Ribbon achievement.
FarmVille Cunning Collector Ribbon
This achievement will reward you for completing collection sets.
Requirements for Cunning Collector Ribbon:
Cunning Collector
- Yellow Ribbon: 2 Collections
- White Ribbon: 25 Collections
- Red Ribbon: 50 Collections
- Blue Ribbon: 100 Collections

Glad I decided to keep the ones I have so far—- And I hope they keep the collectibles in the free gifts sections.
ALSO– If you scroll over the star part in the seeds… You can see how many harvests you need to get to the next star to master it.

Yeeeeah…this one seems much more difficult, although I guess if they keep rotating the gift collectibles we’ll get there eventually. But there isn’t anything I can do to try to get this one, anyway.

to the first poster, Martin~ if you can get 32 collections by now, what’s your worry? Some haven’t even complete a single set yet. I myself just traded 1 collection 10 minutes before i got the enhanced updates…
I think it will take a long time to complete this ribbon but ever since they introduced “they of mystery” i just take the ribbon business as an unnecessary side game… i only left the cream of crop blue ribbon before all the new ribbons was given to us…

Seriously? Why do they have to make these achievements that take FOREVER to achieve? I privately pride myself on how many ribbons I have, but when I see that I have basically no direct way of earning them, that it’s all based on random chance, it’s disheartening. When I know that I’ll get a ribbon if I help 100 more friends or harvest 1,000 more flowers, I’ll work towards it, because I can measure my progress.
The randomness of finding eggs is acceptable, but this Cunning Collector thing is just irritating. I agree with the others who have said it’s annoying to have the slate wiped clean when the ribbons magically appear. Fix this, please.

well for me it’s like the mastery signs……… i just like having them all. as for the they of mystery i’m also for the IGNORE part. all i’m saying is that they should retroactively count them

I hope they will release more of the collectables now and even more of those rare ones.
Because now it’s hard to get them for many folks.

why won’t they release the hoarder, bale out, hatching eggs one, and the gas guzzler,
I am waiting for that one, I thought they would release it last week and emptied out my storage so it wouldn’t go negative towards my hoarders ribbon, but i have so much junk that i bought and put them back in storage which is full now, i hope if they ever release it, I won’t get negative count like with the fence one.
I think they didn’t release this sooner because of that glitch where everyone was getting unlimited collectibles

Yeah that sucks that they wait to release a new ribbon well into people collecting and trading. I myself have traded 32 in the first day or two then come to stand still……….no one seems to be getting the cow bell and I for one am getting very frustrated. and so many of the so called “shares” I think are empty to begin with. I can go after one literally 2 seconds into it and its gone already! And several times I have gotten them and it confirms but when I go in to collect, its not there. I think it won’t be long before I get irritated enough to stop my facebook and farmville althogether

I never traded mine cause I suspected something like this would happen.. now I have almost 80 collections ready!! My goal was to find 10 of each collectible of each type of collection.. I am almost there and the butterflies that was introduced yesterday will give me 100 only problem is I have no butterfly and I don’t know how to find them :p

Damn zynga sometimes makes moves they shouldnt….. :S
I have the Yellow “They Of Mistery” ribbon and i dont even try to get the white………
its just useless….. And 100 collections?? oh come on guys…. i havent even finished one collection…. maybe if they add the to-do list and as for a reward i get or, even better, choose a missing collectable it would be great…..
so Zynga cant offer fun after level 50, it adds totally “impossible” ribbons and overprices the exclusive items!!
I HOPE ZYNGA WORKS ON THESE!

It will probably take me SEVERAL months just to get 1 collection, let alone 100 of them for the blue ribbon!!!!! I farm twice a day, have the list for what I need to do to get X item, and so far I have 10 total. Most one section has is 3…oh, and out of those 10, 4 of them were the gift items.
So between the Mystery box ribbon and this one…I’ll have two empties for my ribbon collections. I’ll be able to get the mystery egg ribbon to blue (which I only get ONE egg a week maybe) WAY before I can get anywhere with the previously mentioned ribbons.
Oh well…I still have plenty of crops to master to keep me busy. Unless I keep playing Plants VS Zombies. lol

they should come out with the Master of Masters ribbon ..for every x amount of mastering crops u can a ribbon ….that would be tougher ..mainly for the hardcore farmers …i know some of my neighbours have over mastered over 30 crops..just a thought a challenge

Man, you guys really get worked up over this. If you already finished collections, I understand that you’re upset, but you don’t LOSE anything by this ribbon being introduced after-the-fact, and it may be impossible for Zynga to backtrack how many you’ve done in the past. Also, if not being able to get a ribbon makes you so upset that you stop playing the game, then either you have serious problems controlling your emotions, or you probably weren’t enjoying Farmville very much in the first place.

Just completed the 100th collection, what a funny game, it so easy to get the collectables if you work very hard and have a lot of neighbours who also work very hard. Only sad that I’m stuck on level 70 forever

This is the last straw. It’s annoying when your get so close to completing all the ribbons/mastery signs, whatever, then they give you another hoop to jump through. You know that Guitar Hero episode of South Park? Farmville is like the Heroine Hero video game where you try to catch the Pink Dragon but you never do? Now I’m realizing this game is just a supreme waste of time.
I’m quiting farmville.

Would be nice if they either released this ribbon when we first started collecting or give you credit for collections already completed and traded in…..this is like starting all over!!!! GRRRRR!

If Zynga has is going to release any ribbons let it do when they realease a new crops or collectables in the start. It should not release the crops first after a long time releasing a ribbon say tuesday updates or thursday updates ands for that it is having one podcast. Worst part of them in what they are doing. They know fix the glitches if player tries to fool. What can we do to Zynga if its fooling ous by not taking the count of activities done earlier. They introduced mastery in the middle when almost players have done so but the count was not taken. Mysterybox if we opened earlier that count was not taken. Now player have traded the set earlier that count is also not taken. Then why they are releasing the ribbon. We are not complaining if they are keeping FV or anything for items. But they should count what players have done or achieved before. It would be kind enough if people vote for this issue.

Zynga this has been the 3rd time I am not able to accept the rare collectables from friends. Is somebody facing the same issue. For this Zynga needs to give times for accepting the collectables.

I know it’s frustrating when they release ribbons etc after the initial release of a feature, but this game is under constant development. As a programmer myself I can see that back-calculating some of these things would be impossible. Just think of all the extra storage space that would be required to record every little crop you planted, harvested, every decoration you placed, every colleciton you traded etc. On the number of players that Farmville has that would be astronomical – you’d soon be moaning when all this recording was slowing down your daily farming!!!! Oh and there’s the additional cost of all that storage too – they’d have to be far more FV$ stuff to pay for that too….
Bugs on the other hand where you get negative credit for the fences already on your farm or a different kettle of fish. I do think that the development timescales are too rushed and each release does seem to be very buggy – hey ho – I still enjoy my farming and would love to see some mastery levels on harvesting my trees – now wouldn;t that be fun??!?!??

I agree with you back-calculating may be impossible.
But let s put it this way if you plan on releasing a feature and then an ribbon associated with that feature, why not hold back the release of the feature a little until you program/ work out the ribbon as well and then simultaneously release them both at the same time. That would be easily done right? and peaty fair to the users.

Hello everyone! I’d like to tell you that I’m really pissed with Zynga….I have just harvested (believe me) 372 trees and I’ve only got a flue feather and nothing else (btw, that feather was already on my never-gonna-complete collection)…..wtf man? How is it even possible for some people to complete and complete collections when I, in my case, haven’t completed even one!!! I’m level 41, so, I ain’t no rookie…..perhaps Zynga hates South America (I’m from Argentina)…..I’m beginning to hate this application, seriously
Besides, how is that when sb posts a “completed collection”, 2 seconds and the collectibles are already gone!!!…
don’t really know what is going on here….but….seriously…zynga guys…I presume you read this….or some are part of this page (otherwise how is it possible to know what is going to be new on the application)….please….give us a break and make it fair for all of us…..I’ve got a neighbour who only has 8 sheep….and he completes the gardening-collection so often that I hate it!!! that freaking twine I can never get…..

Im tired of hard to earn ribbons! The They of Mystery can F off as Im not spending my money on this game. It seems yellow and white ribbons are quite achievable then it goes to near Fn impossible quanties for red and blue. As soon as the Egg-celent discovery ribbon was introduced I have not had an egg for 3 weeks Its crap it will take me a year to get the white at the rate Im going. The collection ribbon is also a joke, have only ever had one cow bell and like a dummy traded it in before this dumb ass ribbon came along! I have decided I will now concentrate on being a good neighbours to those I have and Ribbons and Collections can be a far cry from my mind!

I’m beginning to think that Zynga likes cheaters….I mean, how is it possible for a level 17 to get and get almost ten collections per day? and all together almost those ten? There must be a cheat for this don’t you think? and if there is one, i think it’s really unfair for those who work our asses off on that farm, and expend time trying and trying to level up THE FAIR WAY……
come Zynga…..say something!!! it is ridiculous how the app works for some, and how it “works” for others….

WORST RIBBON EVER…I hate this one as much as I despise the Egg-cellent Discovery Ribbon. You have ZERO control over them because they are based on random events! I have several collections near completion with multiple RARE items but I am missing COMMON items…how stupid is that!? These two ribbons are freaking stupid, make ribbons the we can earn! Not random ribbons based on random events that you just have to LUCK into! Stupid Stupid Stupid!

Can someone explain to me how some of you have all 100 complete? I have 74 neighbors and I am on FV 3x a day and I have only been able to collect 2 collections. It took almost 2 weeks just to get it.

Yeah, I’m pretty much over the collectables. I haven’t found anything in days and I’m sure that’s one set of ribbons I won’t be getting. Seems pretty pointless to me.

I agree that the collectables are not worth the trouble and they are highly unpredictable with respect to where/when things show up. I farmed for days and didn’t find anything. Then, one night, I found several — same farm, same size, same everything, just a different day. I don’t even bother checking anymore to see my progress — waste of my time.

Wow, do you guys complain like that when playing Halo or doing homework? There are some complaints that I understand, such as They of Mystery ribbon and super pumpkin crop mastery some of us couldn’t get because FV took them away earlier than promised. But this is ridiculous. Complaining over a couple of collections not being counted? This ribbon is too hard? Yes, it is. Just because this game is not violent doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be tough. It’s taken me 3 weeks to get 25 collections, so I know I’m gonna be stuck here for a while before I get the blue ribbon, the only thing I ask is that FV creators don’t take away the collections.
Some of you want everything too easy. I’ve read some of you “My crops withered, we should get 1000 farmcash over this”.
This is a hard ribbon, but it’s perfectly attainable, same goes for egg-celent ribbon. Just keep your coop filled with white chicken until you get the ribbon. I get one almost everyday. It’s slow going, but it’s going.

Ok here is the thing, I help my 100 friends daily, and I get 2 maybe 3 (if Im lucky) common itens daily… the rest i get from bonus… seriously… i turned in 50 collections and to complete the ribbons i still need 50 more?!
Give me a break…. if anyone finds the glitch – im there!

why is the collectables carrying on after the 4th ribbon? 250 xp’s is far too much……..these ribbons should be earnt by working on the farm, not watching the screen to see whos posted a collectable, this isnt playing farmville………this is click, ” get this collectable ” then ok button….this is not achievements this is stupid:(

Is there a trick to this collection thing? I have friends who complete dozens of collections a week and I can barely complete any. I understand random, but this doesn’t seem like that. Hints to ‘collect’ faster?

i completed all 100 since about February/March…..one trick..well it’s not a trick…it’s just an idea…is that when you complete a collection..do not trade it in right away….wait for them to add up..that’s what i did…so when i decided to release collectibles….i probably had like 30-50 to release at a time…!
Level 70 player…awaiting more levels, more ways to get FV cash or a way to trade in coins for cash and more space!!
