FarmVille Updates Fertilizing!
In an update released on 12.15.09, FarmVille enhanced the current Fertilizing function.
Whereas before you were only able to fertilize crops that were just planted, you may now also fertilize PLOWED plots and fully GROWN plots.

It seems the thanking friends for fertilizing crops has also been changed. I had to click on a friends picture on the left where the mystery box also appears to send a thank you.
Maybe this is why thanking your friends hasn’t worked for the past few days.

It also seems to have cured a bug that’s been happening to me for a while. The first plot I try to fertilize on a farm doesn’t end up sparkling, though it doesn’t use up a bag of fertilizer that I can’t use on any plot. Since the update, this hasn’t happened.

Is it me or is this bad grammar? Wouldn’t “In additiion to your fertilized crops, you can now fertilize plowed plots and fully grown crops!”
“On top of” makes it sound like you can double stack your crops or something. *Shrugs shoulders*

@Mar: “on top of” is very colloquial, but this is a game for all ages so maybe they are trying to keep it simple.

okay, still having issues with the fifth fertilizer. I notice it only happens on farms where people have trapped there farmer as well…

Same problem here. On farms where the farmer is trapped, I can’t use the fifth bag of fertilizer. Any tips how to get around this??

to access the 5th bag of fertilizer you post a message sign on the farm somewhere but don’t actually write a message just x out of the message. The 5th bag will then work. I read this somewhere else..didn’t discover it on my own!

I still have the fertilizing bug. It doesn’t matter if the farmer is trapped. I just had the first 4 bags fail. For me it’s still the first bags that fail and not the last one.

I agree that it is a nice addition. However, I don’t understand why it is that when I go to certain neighbors there is a message in the upper left that says: “out of fertilizer”. This will happen on the very first neighbor I go to or third or 8th, whether they have five plots sparkling or 25. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Anyone?

You can only fertilize a neighbor once in a 23 hour period (a FarmVille day is 24 hours long). If you have fertilized that neighbor within the last 23 hours, you’ll be out of fertilizer for that farm. If you go to the next farm, that hasn’t been fertilized in MORE than 23 hours, you’ll still have fertilizer available.

I have searched the reason for the 3xp (I have the same) and it is certainly a bug because in comparing different farms xe don’t see difference.
So, tell to your friend to enjoy his lucky!
