Yet another constructible floating FarmVille building, the Floating Castle, arrived in FarmVille this afternoon. The Floating Castle is a multi-level building with at least six construction stages. It can be harvested for Gems for use in the upcoming Gem Tower  (not the same Gems used in Unicorn Island) as well as Special Delivery Boxes (SDB) and items used to uncover fortunes in Jade Falls. The Gem Tower (not yet released) is an upcoming FarmVille feature where you will be able to find exclusive Unicorns.

FarmVille Floating Castle Information

Placing your Floating Castle

You can place a Floating Castle on each of your FarmVille farms, but it’s architectural style fits in perfectly with Jade Falls farm. It will also give you items specific to Jade Falls farm when harvested. Once you complete a progress point, it will give you a free Sail part to share with your friends. Remember, if you have more than one Floating Castle your progress on one building does not carry over to the building placed on another farm. Each Floating Castle is independent of one another and will require its own separate parts.

The Floating Castle has its own icon on the right side of your in-game play area. Simply click on that to get started. If you don’t see this icon, you can always look in your FarmVille Market where you can scoop up the frame for free. Try keyword searching “Floating Castle”. As long as you are in the FarmVille Market, you will also see that there is a semi-completed version for sale at 36 Farm Cash and an entirely completed Floating Castle for sale at the cost of 363 Farm Cash. Ouch.

Once you have your Floating Castle simply find enough clear green space to place it on your farm and start filling it with parts.

Constructing Your Floating Castle

The Floating Castle is rundown and needs to be repaired. It will become functional (or harvestable) after completing the first construction phase.

It will require three different construction parts which include a Hovering Charm, Cloud Brick, and Enchanted Bamboo.

There are several ways to obtain construction materials. The Enchanted Bamboo is giftable and you can request specific friend help. However, the Hovering Charm and Cloud Brick can only be obtained via the Facebook News Feed by posting a share. Remember, when you click on a friend’s share you will also receive a part for yourself. Help a friend, help yourself!

You can also purchase parts using Farm Cash. The Enchanted Bamboo parts cost 1 Farm Cash each and the Hovering Charm and Cloud Brick cost 2 Farm Cash each.

Floating Castle Limited Time Availability 

According to Zynga over at the official FarmVille Forum, the Floating Castle won’t be around forever. It will always be harvestable, but the parts will not be available forever.  ”The Floating Castle is only around for a limited time—so start building! You will always be able to harvest your Floating Castle for Gems and Treasure parts, ask friends for parts, and complete your Castle, but you won’t be able to place the Floating Castle, find the parts you need to build it on the Free Gifts page, or purchase the completed or semi-completed versions in the Market after it closes.” (Source: FarmVille Forum)

FarmVille released the Unicorn Island on Monday, August 6th 2012. The Unicorn Island is a new Unicorn and Pegacorn animal habitat that allows you to store these animals, harvest Gems, and make new FarmVille Unicorns and Pegacorns. To make new Unicorns you’ll need to have the correct “recipe” of Gems, so we’ve broken it down for you below.

Each Unicorn or Pegacorn that you create has a special number of required Gems that you will need to obtain in order to make it. The Gems can be collected from harvesting your Unicorn Island and the Unicorns housed inside it. This feature works closest to the FarmVille Dino Lab. Unicorns are to Gems as Dinosaurs are to DNA. Note, that different Unicorns/Pegasis will yield different Gems. We will publish a guide soon that tells you the specific Gems each Unicorn/Pegacorn produces.

Gems can be harvested or purchased a la carte at the cost of 1 Farm Cash per Gem. Each new Unicorn/Pegacorn also has an optional Farm Cash price tag if you prefer to purchase it directly using Farm Cash instead of laboring over a Gem collection. After placement of the Unicorn Island on your farm, you can start collecting supplies and stuffing them into the construction process of your Unicorn Island. Before the Unicorn Island is functional, you will you need to complete at least the first stage. The first stage requires exactly 30 parts, that’s 10 each of the building supplies listed below.

Collecting Unicorn Island Parts

To get enough Rainbow Clovers, Hearts of Gold, and Enchanted Blossoms you will need to request the help of specific neighbors, send and receive parts from the FarmVille Gifting Page, find parts on your Facebook News Feed from neighbors” shares, or purchase parts directly using Farm Cash.

Harvesting Unicorn Island for Gems & Creating New Unicorns/Pegacorns

As we already mentioned, FarmVille Unicorn Island can be harvested for Jewels and Gems which you will need to collect in order to make new Unicorns and Pegacorns!

After you complete the first stage of Unicorn Island you can begin filling it with your existing FarmVille Unicorns and Pegacorns. Every Unicorn and Pegacorn should be able to go inside, although currently the Candy Pegacorn is having some issues and is likely “turned off” for the moment. You can house up to 20 animals inside the Unicorn Island after completing the first stage.

Remember, the animals you place inside determine which Gems and Jewels you will be able to harvest. We will publish a guide soon on which animals produce which Gems. The Unicorn Island can be harvested daily and will yield Gems when harvested. Save up your Gems to produce brand new Unicorns and Pegacorns.
