FarmVille Sunflower Meadows Notice

FarmVille introduced FarmVille Sunflower Meadows last week. We are bumping this post because many of you are still having questions about it.

Now that you have gotten over the initial sticker shock price tag, we’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about it and what Sunflower Meadows actually is.

Sunflower Meadows is a new way to expand your Home Farm. It is only available for Home Farm. Think of it as a mini-farm connected to your Home Farm. It’s actually a 12 x 12 farm separate from your Home farm, but with shared storage capability. Sunflower Meadows can be further expanded using its own unique land expansions up to the 36 x 36 size.

Again, the cost of purchasing the Sunflower Meadow Expansion is 199 Farm Cash or 200 million Farm Coins. You can “travel” to it just as you would to any other of your FarmVille farms. The difference is that you can actually see it connected to your Home Farm as shown in the image below.

Sunflower Meadow: What does the expansion include?

With your purchase you will get a free tree, free barn, and a free horse. The Sunflower Meadow farm also has a free shared storage with your Home Farm only, making it easier (and free) to transfer items from your Home Farm to Sunflower Meadows. On the new farm you will see new Sunflower themed market items as well.

Our friends over at Games.com including editor Libe Goad were able to meet with Zynga recently and get an inside scoop!

Libe was able to speak with Zynga representative Bill Mooney and got an inside sneak peek of an exciting new feature- The FarmVille Farmer’s Market!!!

According to Mooney, the FarmVille Farmer’s Market will allow farmers “to put stuff in your farmer’s market and that will have an immediate benefit, and you’ll have some interesting stuff to do with that.” Could this new feature include the trade function that we have all hoped for?

The FarmVille Farmer’s Market is rumored to debut in the coming weeks and perhaps in April. Thanks Libe, for sharing this exclusive story with FarmVille Freak!

“This week, we had the chance to sneak behind the scenes at Zynga and talk to FarmVille General Manager Bill Mooney about what it takes to keepFarmVille-ians happy. Aside from releasing brand new items about twice a week, it’s those bigger new features — like Horse Stables or the new St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold — that keep players coming back for more.

A FarmVille Farmer’s Market is one of those big additions that will be coming in a few weeks. The exact details are still hush-hush, but Mooney says that “you will be able to put stuff in your farmer’s market and that will have an immediate benefit, and you’ll have some interesting stuff to do with that.”

We asked if the Farmer’s Market will allow players to auction items, similar to the auction system found in the popular online PC game World of Warcraft, and he says it’ll be much less of a ‘win-lose’ scenario, adding that the ultimate goal of the Market is to encourage people to get more social while playing FarmVille, giving players more reasons to visit friends’ farms and work together to build a better game experience.

Before moving on, Mooney once again emphasized that the FarmVille crew has ‘very big plans’ for the Market and he expects ‘people will be very excited by it.’ Have to admit, it certainly sounds intriguing. We’re guessing farmers will be able to put up items for sale in their Market, which will be a great way to earn a few extra bucks — and clean out those super-packed storage barns. Keep your eyes peeled for the Market’s impending arrival, most likely, in April.
