FarmVille 07.24.2011 Mystery Game
FarmVille has updated the Mystery Game, with brand new French animal prizes. They’ve also updated the way we “play” Mystery Games.
Now, when you play the Mystery Game and win all of the featured prizes, usually five or six, you will get another exclusive prize for free. In this case the regular prizes can be seen below, and the French Unicorn is the free “bonus” prize for playing and winning all the featured prizes.
As we already mentioned this week’s Mystery Game is packed with exclusive French animals that you cannot purchase directly in the FarmVille Market. This Mystery Game costs 20 Farm Cash per dart. You will need to spend a minimum of 120 Farm Cash (since there are six prizes) to earn the bonus French Unicorn.
UPDATE: There is a current bug with the Mystery Game that is causing some players who have received all six regular prizes to not get the bonus French Unicorn. Zynga is aware of the issue and is advising those who have experienced this bug to contact Customer Support. You can read all the details on this FarmVille Freak article by clicking here.

The new way to play is complete BS. I always play the Mystery Game, but not this week. I even have 38 mystery darts, I will not use any of them. I would have to use close to half of them just to get the Unicorn, I want to play to get it, not have to get every single animal I do not even want. If I didn’t have the darts, you be be spending around $160 just to get the Unicorn.

SONJA.. no the rooster is not breedable.. i got one and i cant put it into the chicken coop…. the raccoon dog is all i need.. to get the unicorn. cant find one. have several bull dogs and boars.. ugh. the black percheron in the game, which is not pictured here on fvfreak, is almost exactly like the french percheron from the market, except it’s a touch darker. and it says you have to get ONE of EVERY item (includes the perch, i guess, as mine does) to get the unicorn.. there are six animals, not five.. at least in my game… so far.

@Sonja, yes the raccoon dog is real, but it’s raised/hunted for fur and not a pet.
I have a feeling all of the “good” prizes are now going to be bonuses, so that we have to spend lots of $$$ if we want them. If that’s the case, I am finally going to stop playing – I don’t know if I’m upset or relieved, lol.

Pure Greed! There are actually 6 items to find prior to getting the unicorn. Therefore you have to use 6 darts or 120FV at the minimum to get the top prize. It is bad enough that it may take you 25 darts to find the rarest prize. I am thinking that I may not be playing the dart game again. I just don’t have that type of cash to spend each week.

At least add a few more rare ones to the game to provide a chance to get it in 6 tries or reduce the balloons. They still make a lot of money at 16 balloons or even 20 balloons. Right now the odds are so against us. I know on the last two games, it has taken me 20 and 23 pops just to find the rarest item.

This is just beyond greed; now they don’t even have to offer things people might actually *want* in order to sucker some players into shelling out for the big prize. I can not and will not reward this kind of blatant money grab.
I’ve always been opposed to the dart scheme. I enjoy tossing a free ‘game card’ dart or two if I see a prize I like, but I don’t think it’s right to ask people to pay for just a chance at getting what they want. Now going even further and saying they want us to keep chucking money at this scheme, expecting us to keep buying things we don’t want or need just to “win” that one item? That one item that is, in this case, just another recolour of a previous release? I think they’ve made it clearer than ever that the dart scheme is all about getting people to hand over their money without Zynga having to EARN it by offering quality items at a reasonable price.
Also with the massive glut of “special” items coming out all. the. freaking. time, I’ve realised that there really is hardly ever any animal or tree that I just HAVE to have. There will be another one in a few days, and another one after that. I do not have to literally throw my money away on darts in order to get some cute pixels for my farm.

I am not happy at all with this one, I like to collect the Unicorns and I have done so with mystery games and buying off the market. Now they make this new Unicorn that is some exclusive hard to get unicorn… come on that just messes up my whole collection. I had made up my mind to quit wasting money with farmville unless it was a really good item because right now I have stuff I paid for sitting in storage because I have no room to put it. Also they still dont have the expansions for english countryside for farm coins. I am not happy with this sort of money drain they are trying to do. Come on…. come… on…… ARGHHHH

My free dart is gone also and I made sure to contact live chat and check to make sure I would be able to use it in the next game as I had already played and won all the prizes from last weeks game when they gave it to me. Guess I am going to be going to live chat again tomorrow to get my dart since I have a email copy of the conversation with them promising it could be used for the next one..

When a company goes ‘Public’ all costs go up and Zynga is no different. What Zynga has to realize is a lot of us have things higher on the list to spend our $$$$$$$$$$$ on other than this game. I’m on a limited budget and this ‘game’ is on the bottom of my list. So NO I will not spend 120 (plus) FC on this game to get a unicorn.

I’m on server two and have gotten 5 out of 6 (ran out of Farm Cash… I NEED that Unicorn! I have all the others!) and took a screenshot of the balloon board. I also linked each popped balloon with the prize.

The idea is good in theory, but considering we have no say in what we get and FC is as expensive as it is, I think that it would be a lot better if playing the mystery game was a lot cheaper.
Mystery games that are 20FC I probably won’t play, unless there is something is really, really awesome. Then I might only play if I have a free dart, or if there is absolutely nothing else in the market I want.
If they were half as much, I would probably throw them a lot more often, and probably more than one at a time. I would be much more likely to actually buy cash if I thought I had a little better shot to win what I wanted.

So, that means if you really want the unicorn, but aren’t too bothered about the rest you’re paying a cash value of *at least* $30 to get it; that’s if you’re lucky enough to get all six with just six darts now be honest, how many times have you had THAT happen?

Crap like this just adds to my list of last straws.Everyone keeps saying Zynga is greedy ,Well you have just seen the start of the greed. Now that Zynga has gone public the greed is only going to get worse.I personally will not be spending one more cent on any farm cash. I see alot of people getting tired of all the B*** S***. The Greed on top of all the f***ing bugs in the system I cant play half the time anyway. I have only been playing for about a year and I’m ready to throw in my tractor. I feel really sorry for the ones playing any longer and all the crap you’ve had to put up with. When not If all the people get to the point they say f*** it and find some other game to Play and Zynga goes bust what then? All the real cash we have shelled out for the years we have played goes out the window even more than it already has. One day we will all wake up and see a message “Sorry This Page No Longer Exist”. Then we will all have to find a new game to play online and there is alot (FOR FREE) I for one have had enough. JMO…

I spent 140 farmville cash – played the game 7 times and still did not get the six items needed to get the Unicorn. I got the Percheron, 3 racoon dogs, 2 boars and an Ibex. What a rip off. You would think they would at least let you get the Unicorn if you play 6 times. That is one expensive Unicorn. All I really wanted was the bulldog

1) I understand the frustration but complaining here solves nothing, write all complaints to Zynga Support.
2) If you won all six the least you can do is share the server number and where each prize appeared instead of just complaining about not getting the unicorn, that only Zynga can fix. Most here only have one or two darts and are trying to maximize their chances.
I write this respectfully as I have already complained to Zynga about prizes but did so in the correct forum.

I had four “free” darts. 1 & 16 Boar (F), 4 Rooster(B), and 13 Raccoon Dog (E). Here are the other four darts it took: 5 Goat (D), 21 Bulldog (C), 12 Boar (F) and 15 Horse (A). Hope this helps someone. You can hopefully not get three boars you don’t need like I did. I am on server 0.

Just tried the suggestion above, going to Zynga’s support site to let them know how UNexcited I am about these changes, but it’s down for ‘revamping’ or whatever. Why am I not surprised?
Also very UNexcited to have the bloody dart game automatically open when I loaded my farm, trying to goad me into playing it. This kind of pushiness may make them a small, temporary profit, but it is NOT the way to encourage continuing sales.
Seriously, they’re pushing their “new way to play” that’s, according to them, “better than Mystery Boxes”, and on this first, introductory round, the top ‘rare’ and the bonus prize are both recolours of existing items? They should be embarrassed.
