Farmville Freak Latoya's Border Collie Puppy
Dogs FINALLY debuted in FarmVille!!!
In an unexpected Wednesday night update, Dogs, or Puppies rather, hit the FarmVille Market on April 7th 2010.
The price of Dogs has been speculated for awhile and we’ve seen numbers anywhere from 20 – 80 FV$. Speculation is over, and Puppies can officially be purchased for 65 FV$ or for 300,000 coins. The only catch being that the coin purchasable Border Collie can run away! You are required to feed your Puppy Kibble every day or it will run away. You may purchase Kibble with farm cash or ask your FarmVille neighbors to send one for free using the FarmVille Gifting Page since Kibble is a free giftable item. Also, notice that the (coin only) Border Collie can only be Red, if you choose to make it another color it will cost 65 FV$.
As promised by Zynga, the one and only FarmVille Pet is customizable giving farmers the option to pick a unique name for their Puppy, chose whether it is male or female, and pick out the color.
All Puppies, provided they are well taken care of, will eventually turn into adult Dogs.
So with all the hype and months of anticipation, are you satisfied with the FarmVille Puppy? I would personally still like to see more breeds of Dogs available (Chihuahuas, English Bull Dogs, American Pit Bulls, etc) and hope that Zynga considers doing this! Not really complaining, but it would also be nice if the Dogs had a specific function besides being cute and adorable and well…awesome.
Will you purchase the FarmVille Puppy with farm cash or coins?

FarmVille Freak Rochet's Puppies
For the complete details about purchasing and caring for your FarmVille Puppy read below from FarmVille Assistant Community Manager Channel Zero:
Official FarmVille Puppy Instruction Guide:
“Pets have finally come to FarmVille with our latest feature! You can now buy a puppy of your very own in our Market! Your new puppy will follow you wherever you go, and will eventually become a full grown dog! Here’s how you can get one.
When you click Buy, the following pop-up appears, letting you know that you’ll need to feed your puppy every day in order to keep it from running away. You are NOT charged for the puppy at this point. Clicking Okay on this pop-up takes you to the Puppy Customization screen.Coin Option – Buying Your Puppy
You can purchase the Red Border Collie for 300,000 Coins. At this point, you can pick a Name for your puppy, and whether it is Male or Female. PLEASE NOTE: The only color available for the coin Border Collie is Red. If you select a color other than Red, the price will change from 300,000 Coins to 65 Farm Cash:
Once you’re ready to purchase your Red Border Collie, click the Buy button. You’ll receive a popup reminding you to feed your puppy Kibble once every day, or it will run away.Clicking Okay will take you to your Farm to place your new puppy. You are only charged for the puppy when you place him or her on your Farm. Once your puppy is placed, it will run up to you with a thought bubble over its head with Kibble inside.
This means that your puppy is hungry and needs kibble!
Coin Option – Feeding Your Puppy
In order to keep your puppy around, once it’s hungry you’ll need to feed it Kibble once every 24 hours for a period of 14 days. You can get Kibble one of two ways:1) Purchasing it in the Market for 5 Farm Cash (one bag per 5 Farm Cash):
2) Or you can ask your friends to send you Kibble via Feeds.
Clicking Ask Your Friends will give you the option to post a feed that if clicked will let up to three of your neighbors send you one bag of Kibble each. This feed remains active for up to 24 hours, or once three neighbors have clicked. Each neighbor that helps you receives 100 Coins.
All Kibble you receive whether from Neighbors or from the Market will automatically go to your Gift Box. To feed your puppy, when you have Kibble available and they are hungry, either select Feed from the puppy’s pulldown menu.
To view the status of your puppy, simply mouseover your pet, and you’ll see how many times out of 14 that they’ve already been fed. If they’re currently hungry, you’ll see how much time you have before they run away (the “Feed Now” timer). If they’ve already been fed once for the day, you’ll see a timer showing how long you have before they’re hungry again.
Rescuing Your Puppy From the Pound – Coin Puppy Only
If you forget to feed your puppy, they’ll end up in the pound, and you’ll need to pay to get them out. When you enter FarmVille after your puppy’s run away, there will be a HUD icon in the upper-left hand corner of your screen with a puppy behind bars. Once you click on this HUD icon, you’ll receive the following pop up:Clicking Pay Fine will take you to the Pets section of the Market with a ‘Rescue My Dog’ option.
Clicking Buy will take you back to your Farm and give you the option to place your puppy. PLEASE NOTE: Your Farm Cash will not be deducted until you place your puppy on your Farm.
Remember that you may only have one Coin purchased puppy. That means that if your puppy goes to the pound, you can not purchase another Coin puppy. You’ll have to retrieve your original puppy from the pound.
Farm Cash Option – Buying A Puppy
You can buy the Golden Retriever, Sheep Dog, and Border Collie for 65 Farm Cash Each. Each Puppy has the option for three different colors, along with the same options as the Coin Option puppy. The Cash puppy also comes with a 2 weeks supply of Kibble. You may purchase as many Farm Cash puppies as you want, and they will not run away if they are not fed for a day.
Eventually, all puppies, if well taken care of will become full grown dogs!”

I bought the border collie coin one earlier and now I ran out to Target and got a game card to get a golden retriever also!

Each dog is supposed to have a function. if you click on what is this for example with the sheepdog, it takes care of sheep. the border helps with other animal ans the golden retriever, well retrieves. I do not know exactly what that means but that is what it says.

I bought a dog with my farm coins , fed it , left and came back and it was gone along with my 300k coins. This is outrageous. Zynga needs to fix this. Along with the price of the dogs. 65 cash is nuts.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:31 pm
I was so excited to buy my red border collie. But, I left my farm and came back and she was gone! I fed her but she’s still GONE! So sad…
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Side note.. Just watched the new south park episode and it was about facebook and kyle was playing farmville!! haha
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:37 pm
I really want a coin dog but i’m worried about not being able to feed it. Does anyone know how many farm cash it will take to retrieve it from the pound??
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
For the two disappearing dog posts, the same thing happened to me. I read through the previous dog thread and found the solution. If you unblock your farmer (I am assuming you have them blocked in so they can’t walk), it will run off screen towards you the next time you reload your farm. I think if you choose for the dog to Stay and not Follow then you don’t have to worry about this. I haven’t tried that though.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
guys be smart.. its not gone! I thought the same but you can choose if you want it to follow you or not.. it runs off too.. like its there! I almost lost it too and got scared but its somewhere there
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
So… if you buy a male and a female, will they grow up and have puppies? Then those of us too poor for either cash or coins can adopt one from our friends. However, I’m assuming that would be TOO EASY, so it won’t happen.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:49 pm
The fine for getting your coin dog out of the pound is 3 FV$, which is the same price as one tank of fuel.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 9:57 pm
They made us wait so long for the dog and then they want to charge 65 fvc for some of them ugh! I bought the coin dog and it disappeared. I shouldn’t have even bought the darn thing.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 10:00 pm
While they definitely weren’t worth the hype, Zynga still did really well with the release of the dogs. I mean, sure, I’m disappointed that I’m stuck with a red border collie, but I don’t spend money on this game, and I don’t really think that she looks all that bad.
Let’s face it – no matter what Zynga did here, they’re going to get a lot of hate. Their real mistake was in getting everyone super excited about the release, and I’m sure that somewhere, some poor PR chick is crying herself to sleep at night for ever having thought that teasers were a good idea.
If the dogs had been anticipated for a couple of days – maybe a week, tops – then this would be much less serious than it is now. We’ve known about the dogs for long enough to give in to wishful thinking, and of course that’s going to lead to disappointment.
I’m sure that enough people are going to buy the $FV doggies to have made them worth Zynga’s while – look at the Unwither Rings! If there were ever something that I thought would have failed utterly it was those, yet I know several people who have them. For every paying player who says “you know, 65 is just too much,” there’s one who says “I absolutely have to have one of every kind.”
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 10:35 pm
This is a fracking ripoff. Zynga’s just pulling another one of their carnival math scams. Just give us the goddamn dogs for a reasonable price and quit trying to milk us for money.
Jesus, ever since they got all that investment money from those Russian mobsters disguised as legit investors, Zynga has gotten so damn greedy that someone needs to have them investigated. I smell racketeering in all this!
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
“For every paying player who says “you know, 65 is just too much,” there’s one who says “I absolutely have to have one of every kind.””
And those are the people who should be shot, because they frack the game up for the rest of us.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
“If you unblock your farmer (I am assuming you have them blocked in so they can’t walk), it will run off screen towards you the next time you reload your farm.
I *KNEW* it! This is all a scam to get us to unblock our farmers and waste more time on our farms, forcing us to *BUY* their overpriced damn farm equipment.
Leave the fracking dogs in the pound and put them to sleep.

“I *KNEW* it! This is all a scam to get us to unblock our farmers and waste more time on our farms, forcing us to *BUY* their overpriced damn farm equipment.”
Ha ha!
I do not envy the Farmville Freak administrators tonight.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:00 pm
Sure we can buy it with 300,000 coins, but then you still have to pay for the food with Farm cash. So it is not an option for most people who do not buy fc, unless they have stashed all the level up fc.
Lame

“I do not envy the Farmville Freak administrators tonight.”
Don’t. There’s sadly enough idiots with disposable cash who are forking over whatever $65 FB costs to have them laughing all the way to the bank and back.
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:09 pm
how much kibble does it eat a day, can I collect enough kibble for 14 days before buying the puppy
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
I uh…yeah, I can get the coins no problem, but 65 fvc?! You see it’s not that easy not having a job and playing this game sometimes. I was laid off and still tryin to find a job and I can’t go out to buy the freekin card so I can get the dog that doesn’t run away and waste my money! This really sucks! They could at least lower the price or something so the broke a$$ people can afford them. It would be nice to have more kinds of dogs as well though, but I understand that it’s just the first release of the puppies. I hope they get yorkies and ****er spaniels and huskys! That would be sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:19 pm
Can you buy more than just one puppy????
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:39 pm
Can someone with a perscription give Yu Ma Ma a “frackin” Percocet? Dont buy it dont play….and shut the heck up. What a crazy nut!
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 11:55 pm
lol i have a cat named frack.
so we can get kibble from friends feeds? and does it run away after 24 hours exactly, or is it like crops and we have the 24 hour grace period? its all a scam to make more money.
and if you dont have a job, you shouldnt be playing fv. you should be….looking for a job.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:09 am
ok i think this is stupid…we can only change the color if we buy it with farmcash and it runs away if we dont feed it if bought with coins…um hello if your gonna do that then make sure your not charging us 300,000 coins…noone has that much unless their higher up in levels and no we should be able to have more options with this im sorry but i know im not buying a dog with these dumb prices…and 65 farmcash is deff too much to be charging for a dog! i’ve heard others saying they wont buy the dog unless this price thing changes as well so please fix this!!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:19 am
@ all those who complain about FV cash
Look if you dont want to pay FV cash you dont have to because theres a coin equivilant. Its not like you HAVE to have a dog to play Farmville its an extra so why complain. Besides think how long it has taken the Zynga Gods to crearte these puppies for us! i for one think they are in full rights to make them cost FV cash for there efforts. people should be thankfull for the coin border collie and if they have nothing good to say then dont say it all all.
Also remember that this is not FV’s officail forum i and i feel sorry for the FV Freaks asthey does not deserve all your complains the FV oficials forum does.
BTW
I will be buying th cash option and at anyone who claims it id too much too afford im in yr 11 in school UK and i cant afford the £7 equvilant cost of the dog. I like FV and am perfectly fine with the zynga gods getting rewarded for their hard work with cash.
lets face it would you put in all the hard work to create the farmvill gane AND regulary update it for free? I rest my case
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:34 am
When i bought a puppy and leave the farm when i came back i saw him runing and thhey have a function to follow your farmer
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:42 am
well lets see the FV cash dog is 65 cash, coin dog is 300 000 coins but u have to feed it for 14 days. 1 days feed is 5 cash, u get 1 days feed free, total cost 65 cash for feed plus 300 000 for a dog. The term trying to pull the wool over our eyes comes to mind
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:42 am
Farmer Pete….think about how long it takes musicians to create a song yet we can go buy a song for 99 cents.
Regularly update it for free….yeah well it’s still in beta! They make it seem like they add so much yet a finished “hard copy” is already fully-featured and doesn’t cost anywhere near as much as it would to buy all the FV decorations.
I agree they should make money for sure but they could make so much more money and make so many more people happy by dropping their prices.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:57 am
Farmer Pete you are so right.
I’d love to see how people here would work for free and listen to so much complaining too.
I won’t be buying a dog, not because they are too expensive but because they are ugly lol. And I already have farm hands to help my animals so why would I need an ugly red collie?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 1:19 am
my puppy cant be found on my farm???? not impressed …… perhaps puppy fencing would be a good idea ??? im down 300, 000 cant buy another puppy because it wont let me …… anyone know what i can do?? how do i get my puppy back???
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 1:27 am
talk about a blonde moment… I found my dog…. my appologies to farmville….
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:03 am
its cool specially when the puppy start to follow you!
cool! great!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:34 am
Someone might have mentioned this, but i didn’t read through all posts:
If your puppy seems to have run away after you place it on the farm, please search for it. IT IS ON YOUR FARM. It most probably will be by your avatar/ your farmer. This is where i found mine after it has disappeared when i placed it on the ground.
There is an option the dog to follow the farmer , so the puppy goes automatically to him at the beginning. Choosing the option Stay instead of Follow should make your puppy stay in one place.
Hope that helps

Hi there,
i just bought a dog foor 300,00, i placed him on my farm, but now it’s missing.
i’ve unlocked my farmer and still cann’t see the dog anywhere….
i’ve moved my buildings and trees to see if it’s hiding somewhere but still cann’t find it….
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:52 am
The only reason they’re charging 65 FV is because there are enough fools to buy it for that much.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:58 am
I’ve found my dog….
My farmer was unlocked, but she was standing inside a closed gate….i opened the gate and there was my puppy!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 3:18 am
Will we receive 3.000 XP when paying the 300.000,- for the dog?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 3:34 am
Choose the option “Stay” and the puppy stay in one place!
SERENA: And you don´t need to buy the food! Your friends can give it to you! Read the instructions first before posting…..

@Yu Ma Ma – i just LOVE to read you comments !
)) you’re amazing
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:16 am
Can we change Dog’s name ???
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:34 am
All that hype for something THAT boring… I have the feeling they released them a lot earlier than what was planed, because of all the farmville freaks’ whining “when are the dogs coming, this animal is stupid, why does it come before the dogs, etc”. Well, now the dogs are just as stupid and boring as all other animals.
I hope these are not all the options and farmville creators will update dogs. And 65 FV? This is a rip off, as all others FV items they release. They really should drop the prices, it’s just unreasonable to pay 15 real bucks for a virtual dog, which you can only feed. Heck, even tamagochi’s better!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:34 am
OK got the dogs…all my neighbors bought with coins since Kibble was a gift. We all start gifting. BUT WAIT. No room in our giftbox for all the kibble on top of the arborists and farmhands taking up space. So NOW we cannot accept or return gifts until…wait…once a day feeding…they will be expired by then. SIGH!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:09 am
Hello
I am so so glad that Farmville has finally got the dogs and puppies in the market now! I have actually never bought farm cash so this will be a first for me.
Is it therefore safer, comparing this with the previous comments, to buy a puppy for farm cash rather than to get it with coins? I do not want to pay 7 real cash to get the dog and then i won’t be able to find the dog again. So just to make sure, if my dog does ‘disappear’ am i able to find it again and if so, where?
For other people who are trying to get kibble from friends, only ask ONE friend a day to send you kibble because they only need to be fed once a day. And yet another question!
Once the dog grows into an adult, does that mean that we stop feeding it or do we still have to feed it kibble every single day? It says on the Farmville site that we must feed the dog every day with kibble until it has grown into an adult but it doesn’t mention if we still need to feed it every day or not.

When they get lost, will they breed and create packs of wild dogs that attack and eat your animals?
Also, let me be the first one to complain that I’d like a doghouse next.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:39 am
i dont want my dog to run away how can i feed it more than one time a day so it wont run. how long do i have before it runs away to feed it if i can only feed once a day? someone please help me i love my dog
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:41 am
Oooh, a doghouse would be a great idea! We should have that on Farmville!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:45 am
Just use some without it doing anything. gives more room for kibble
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:06 am
I want to feed my farmville puppy before he’s hungry again but that’s not possible. This sucks because he will run away on Saturday then because I’ll sleep in.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:09 am
way too expensive! it’ll take forever to earn 300,000 coins! and i can’t afford to buy cash. why couldn’t it be cheaper?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:10 am
I bought the one with the coins so cute love it!!!!the puppie will grow up or not???I think 65 farmcash too expencive!!!!Also im so dissapointed with zynga beacuse all the new items are with farmcash and the took off the method of pay with mobile card!!:(
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:15 am
OMG, my coin-dog is lost. I purchased it, put it on my farm, it ran to the middle where i locked my avatar & then, it is gone. How to get it back. I released my avatar but the dog is no where to be seen still. & i cant buy another one… Pls help.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:47 am
LMAO @ Kate, thanks for the chuckle. I beleive if everything ran smoothly with the dogs, people would STILL find something to Biotch about. I bought the golden retriever with FC and I love it. !! Wished they would of had pugs or German Shepards tho. Maybe another time
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:58 am
guys i just realised something that all of you are missing. thed dogs cast 65 fvc or 300000 coins, if you buy a dog that is 300000 coins your spending more than a 65 fvc dog. look 14 days worth of kibble is *70* fvc so buying the 300000 coin dog costs more so zynga are scamming us making us think nah dont buy a 65 fvc dog buy a cheep 300000 coin dog and making us pay *70* fvc worth of kibble! so you think your getting cheep by buying 300000 coin dog when your actually PAYING MORE!!! i personally recomend getting the 300000 coin dog and make a fake facebook acount so you can send the kibble to yourself everyday
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:04 am
Ok, I bought a stupid coin dog this morning. I refuse to spend FV dollars. It’s such a waste. I am sure he will be gone when I get home from work.
I don’t agree with the “having to feed every day” or they run away. That is bu11****. What if I go away overnight? I have to bring my laptop with me to feed the stupid dog?
Also- I started playing Treasue Isle and it is SO MUCH more fun!!!! I have actually been spending very little time farming any more. Too much hype.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:05 am
@ Farmer Pete
Even if you do buy the coin equivalent, you still have to pay for the kibble or else the dog will run away. I know you can ask for the food from other farmers, but for the average player who doesn’t add the add trains, receiving any could be a big problem.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:31 am
1. Collect 14 buckets of kibble before you buy your dog.
2. Make sure you will be able to access Farmville for 14 continuous days bwfore you commit to buying your dog.
3. Use your coins if you don’t have the cash. -f you’ve been playing for a while 300k shouldn’t be too bad. (I just passed 10 million! Whoo hoo!)
If you follow these steps, you can have a dog without spending any money. The only downside that you may not be able to have it right now. Unless you have a lot of friends who send you kibble.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:36 am
Okay – has anyone seen my puppy, Brooklyn??
I bought her last night for 300,000 and she is gone today. When I left her the clock over her head said 23:20 (that’s the hours before she has to be fed again). HELP, and I can’t buy another dog!! This is CRAZY!! If you see her wondering around, please send her home. Tell her that her mommy misses her xoxo – LMAO thnx alot. Please don’t tell me this is a rip off just to get my 300,000
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:44 am
After they turn into adults, will they still run away??
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:54 am
ZYGNA
IF i take vacation?
I plant watermelon 4 days!
What i do whit the DOG?
(take it whit me?)
make feeders!!!!!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 8:01 am
When I first adopted my dog I couldn’t think of a name. Anyone know if and how we can rename it? Also, I have saved farm helpers and tree helpers in my gift box. When I bought the dog, yes with FV Cash, I got 16 bags of kibble. This doesn’t leave much room in the box for eggs and other items we pick up along the way. Hope this is changed. I can dream, right? Thanks
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 8:36 am
HI All,
I too bought Border Collies last night for 300,000. I placed him on my farm and I fed him once …when I re-login to farmville my Puppy was missing
Solution to get your Puppy back :
Step 1:Just unblock or untie your farmer (I blocked my farmer with hay bales so that he should not move all around becoz to get things faster on my farm)..
Step 2:Then login in again to ur farming application..U will find ur puppy back …
I got mine and he came running to me when I re login to the game page..I am happy now
Find him/her n feed soon
Happy Farming

For Goodness Sake!!
Its a game, usually not challenging but fun, now they have put in a modicum of challenge. If you buy a coin dog you have to feed it for 14 days.
You can get feed gifted from friends so no cost.
As someone else said, only buy it when you know you won’t be away for 14 days. Be prepared to plan the feeding so you can do it – you could try getting up Sarah.
If you read the Freak site you will see Zynga are looking at the problem of the disappearing puppy. They will sort it. Ages ago we had disappearing turtles – they sorted that
As to spending actually money for virtual items – well that is a matter of choice, and it annoys me when some people criticise others for doing it. You don’t need to do it to play the game, but if you want to then go ahead.
In my experience people spend a lot of money on leisure activities and have nothing solid to show for it. To spend on this game means the people doing it enjoy themselves. People spending on an evenings drinking enjoy themselves. I know which option I prefer.
Stop complaining, enjoy the game. If you can’t enjoy it don’t play.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 9:57 am
I like Big Macs. Why does McDonald’s have to charge money for Bic Macs? They should be free, or at least only cost a nickel because otherwise all I do is complain about how much they really cost. Greedy McDonalds!
Think about it.

how long do i have to feed the dog before it runs away?

Hi. I love my dog Wrigley…. no complaints about the 300k cost and feeding. BUT, I do have one wish. It would be great if there was a runaround option. If I click follow, he just ends up sitting in my blocked in area with me, actually with his nose to my castle. There isn’t any room for him to move. So, I have him “stay”ing in my yard, which is sad because he doesn’t get to run around either. I wish they had a third option of just letting him run free, so he could run through my crops and play with the animals and act like a dog! I’m surprised they did this, knowing how we all block ourselves in!

like i know ihave to feed it everyday but what do i have to do it the min it gets hungry or will it run away as soon as it gets hungry? im confused on this do i atleast have a hour or so cause i have learned i cant feed it early..or if i can feed it early how long do i have to wait to feed it early
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 11:13 am
I got a puppy (300k is outrageous!!!) but still, have a problem. it wouldn’t let me choose name when i purchased it about 2 hours ago, so how do i change it??? also i have asked friends to send me dog kibble but when i try and accept it, it just goes to blank page and i lose gifts this has done it with all 17 gifts of the kibble so far :/
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 11:19 am
I just have to get this off my chest:
First of all i want to say that i did get the dog for coins. i like it. i had almost 5 million coins, so for ME that is no problem! BUT , there are people that are just starting the game or have started recently and for THEM it is way too expensive and very very unfair. I mean Zynga knew that most people are waiting for the dogs with excitement and they just took advantage of it! if no one was whining about the digs they would have probably released them as adoptable animals, totally for free, but because of all this hype they just knew a lot of ppl would by cash, or buy coins in order to get it, that is why the price even for coins is so high.
i know that is their business, but certainly not a very client oriented business. I feel bad for ppl that are just starting the game and i know how it is to save to buy your first house, to get the decorations and everything and these ppl have now to save for a little puppy! yes, these dogs are going to be available in the future too, but it’s mean when you show ppl something they want so much just to tease them, because they can’t get it straight away.

For those complaining that Farm Cash is too much I wonder exactly how people are managing their money these days. Yes the economy is in the dumps, jobs are at a minimum, but it seems that people still find enough cash to get online, connect a cell phone, and own a computer.
These same people I am sure find enough cash for other vices like pot, cigarettes, and beer, so lets be honest with ourselves here, it’s not that you cant afford it, it’s that you are upset that you have to pay for it, which is fine but lets just be real about it. Many of us have some Farm Cash just from leveling up, so if you need more to get a dog or whatever… you get can get 55 FC for a measly 10 bucks!
Now if you truly TRULY cant afford ten to twenty bucks ONCE in a while then Farm Ville dogs are the least of your problems, you need to get OFF the computer and spend more time on your income. I know everyone wants to have a computer and be online but when you are panicking over the price for pixelated animals you are sadly living above your means by even trying to play FarmVille. Sorry to burst your bubble but the truth is the truth. I myself am broke as a joke, but if you have half a brain you can earn an honest living, and if you stop trying to keep up with the Joneses’ and live within your means you WILL have money for the extras in life.

I don’t want the dog, but I’m happy it’s finally released, now those whiners F*cking stopped crying in every single update. But of course now they will cry over the trick of their dogs or else. Some people will never shut up.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 11:35 am
Bought the dog with coins and am now broke. It’s too steep a price still.
And definitely not worth buying it with FC.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
Meh, pass. When the puppy turns into a dog and it turns out that you don’t have to feed/babysit it anymore, then I might buy it later. But if I have to feed/babysit the dog daily after the fourteen days? No way.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
I have my farmer blocked and the dog runs to “me” every time I load the game. I cannot, however, get it to stay and/or move it somewhere else without getting and out of sync error. No biggie, though, as he runs to the avatar every time. I just hope I can feed it every day over the next 13… =)
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:25 pm
When you buy the dog with Farm cash, can it run around your farm and crops, or do the coins and cash dog just stay in the same place?
xo
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:46 pm
Ah, but would people buy a full grown dog for 75FV$ or 500k FV coins if they didn’t have to feed it for 2 weeks? Haha, watch that become a new release.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 12:51 pm
@TheBronxLegend – it’s funny how close minded you are. I personally am living in a country where normal wages are 200 dollars A MONTH, but some of the expenses (like meat/clothes/diapers/…) are bigger than those in England or Denmark for example, the unemployment is about to hit 20% and people struggle to survive. I study, I have a job (need a better one, but can’t find since October) and I’m still living with my parents, so I don’t have to pay for bills or loan, and at the same time I don’t have all the money I need to cover my biggest hobby – going to concerts (I don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t do drugs, don’t have a car, don’t buy expensive clothes or shoes). So, being made to choose which concert to attend, because I don’t have the money to see ALL the ones I want, I’m definitely not spending my cash on virtual goods. Farmville has been something to chill out with until it became a cash machine excluding players not able to pay for FV from the real fun.
Moreover, if you buy FV, the game turns out a lot more expensive than ones like Sims 2/3 for example, which are 10000000000 more fun and giving WAYYYYY more options.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
I want a dog.. but I am deffinetly not paying with farmville cash. Its a rip off
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 1:52 pm
I have to get up in the middle of the night to feed my puppy, since I can’t feed it before the timer has reached 00:00.. This is so stupid. FarmVille should be a fun game you play when you feel like it, not something you _have_ to do or you’ll lose something you spent a lot of coins on buying.. This was such a dissapointment to me. All I wanted was a black dog.. Wonder why they made the 300k one red/brown..
Btw, does anyone know how long after the feed timer has gone to 0 before the dog runs away? Cause I really want a good night sleep and not let this game run my life.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:25 pm
I was wondering if anyone know how much time does farmville gives you to feed your farmville coin puppy before it runs away????
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
i have the border collie dog and im still in school and i got to sleep around ten, i got the dog a little after ten 20 and if i dont feed it untill the next morning would go away? i get up at 6 and usually check my facebook. please help i need to know so im not up all night and dont get enough sleep for the morning thanks
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 2:48 pm
ok soo if the coin dog does run away can u get it back??? some 1 plz tell me
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 3:16 pm
If my coin dog is not fed in time it will go to the pound and I have to pay 3FV dollars to get it back.
My dog will be hungry at around ten to eight tomorrow morning but I am due in work at eight so will miss the time when it comes up hungry! It will not allow me to feed it earlier.
How long do we get once the dog becomes hungry until it runs away?

Half of the (grammatically horrible … did anyone pay attention in English class?) posts on here could be gone if you people would READ THE DIRECTIONS. Most of these inane questions have already been answered for you.
My only problem is that I was unable to name my puppy “Damned Spot,” as in “Out damned spot” from Macbeth. Way to go, Big Brother.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 3:48 pm
@ Teddybear. Thank you for responding. Closeminded? Hmmm ok. Nobody who knows me or what I have done in this lifetime could ever accuse me of being close minded, but since you don’t know me, I will just chalk your statement up to simply not knowing anything about me and more as a defensive reaction to my apparent hitting of a nerve. That being said I am glad that your reply is devoid of the usual “omg, lolz, i wuv puppyzzz” type of drivel that occupies a good 90% of the posts on forums or message boards, so I will respond in kind to your post.
The point I think you missed it that FarmVille is not a necessity in life, much like your hobby of concert going but it is something you enjoy. However the simple fact is, If you can not afford your hobbies then your hobbies are too expensive for your lifestyle. Makes sense, no? Life deals people different cards, some people are fortunate to live in locations on earth where with a little ingenuity and intelligence you can make money. Some people live in places where the cost of living is higher than the chance of living. But if your situation means you have to struggle so hard just to make life livable and you somehow still manage to obtain a computer, internet connection and electricity, but complain about the cost of a animated drawing in a game that is free to play, your priorities are ass-backward. Do you not see that?
NONE of the items in FarmVille that cost money are vital to how the game plays, and even the items that do cost Farm Cash can still be obtained through leveling up to obtain Farm Cash, of course this way is much, much longer, but the opportunity is there. When you see something that you feel you must have like dogs or buildings or exotic horses etc. You cry foul at the programmers at Zynga and say “it’s a cash machine that excludes the people from the real fun”… Well what I would like to know is ‘what makes the addition of a pixelated dog on your screen in FarmVille more fun than it not being there?
The game will still allow you to plant crops, harvest trees and hatch eggs right? Which is the point of a farm to begin with right? Hence FARM Ville? You like to be paid for work you do right? Well guess what…. so do the people at Zynga! The only way they see money is if you buy the items they charge for, but they never charge you for an item that is detrimental to the playing of the game.. and to slap them the in the face when they still offer a dog for coin is sad. The only REAL difference from the dog that you would get for coin vs one for FC is a choice of breed or color. So what is your real argument? You can get a dog for regular coins, but the Joneses’ keep taunting you with their chocolate lab or sheepdog and suddenly your generic border collie is not worth the effort to own him?… and you call ME CLOSE MINDED??
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 3:51 pm
I purchased the coin Border Collie (which I have a real border collie (red too) in real life!) So anyway – I received a bag of kibble today which is in my gift box. BUT – i can’t figure out how to feed the little guy! Do I have to WAIT until he is “hungry” at a certain time? I have a few hours left until he “runs away” but still – I click on the kibble and can’t give it to him. How does this work???
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:05 pm
Another thought for anyone considering buying a puppy – since you have to feed the dog once a day, don’t do what I did and buy him at 11pm, if you don’t want to be feeding him everynight at 11pm. I wish I had bought him at 6pm. You can only ask friends for Kibble once a day.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:33 pm
But what If I’m away from my computer…….. D:?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Yeah it’d be awesome to have the breeds suggested, we can even give them special features!! The chihuahua can run around the farm and bark at everything that moves, and the pitbull can maul people that come on to your farm to fertilize your crops! Ooh and then you can purchase a sign for FV$ that says “It’s not the breed, it’s how you raise them!” Of course, for realism, the pit bull has to be the only one that mauls people. None of the other breeds will do any mauling, regardless of how they are raised.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 4:49 pm
Haven’t seen this one answered yet, does anyone know how long after your dog becomes hungry before it runs away??? I was up in the middle of the night and bought mine at 3am….. I really don’t want to have to feed her at 3am for 14 days. I really hope they give you three or four hours before they put her in the pound!!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:09 pm
isnt 65FV cash too much to buy a puppy?cant you lower it to 20?cause it will be fun to have lots of dogs later on to take care of our farm.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 5:34 pm
I have the same question as Karen above me. How does the feeding work??? Do we have to feed them at the same time every night or is there a certain amount of time after he becomes hungry before they put him in the pound?I have 2 hours left until mine is hungry. I didn’t know I was going to be working my day around my farmville puppy’s schedule haha.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
I would like to know this too. I bought mine around 1-ish last night but I can’t stay up that late tonight because I work early tomorrow. Any know how long until the puppy runs away?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
Is anyone thinking: “Wow… this is only a cartoon game, folks.” ?
I enjoy the game. It’s cute. But real life is a bit more pressing. We humans are a bit insane, hmm?
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:49 pm
^^
Just browsing through Zynga’s FV forum, and it looks like you have up to 24 hours to feed your puppy once it’s hungry. (So 24 hours for it to become hungry, then 24 hours to feed it) Just like the crops.
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 6:55 pm
Maybe we should put these puppies on a government program so we don’t have to be responsible. (giggle)
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 7:04 pm
@Brian – ah okay that works for me. thanks for sharing the info!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 10:40 pm
K, can someone PLEASE tell me how long I have to feed the dog when it gets hungry? Within seconds? Minutes? Hours????? I am NOT staying up late every night for 2 weeks, I have a young family to get up to in the morning!!!!!!!!! Why isn’t the answer to this posted somewhere obvious????? Many seem to want to know.
Also, Yu Yu Ma, I really love your comments, keep it up!!!
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
K, I see it’s answered up a few posts. Thanks. I was really, really tired of browsing all the comments in these forums looking for the answer so I didn’t see yours until I had one last look. So we have 24 hours from when the dog gets hungry to feed it. Thank goodness ’cause if that wasn’t the case then I was about to say see ‘ya later dog and SEE ya’ farmville, you suck. But I guess I’ll stick around a little longer
Posted on April 8th, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Does anyone know if you can change the name of your puppy? i bought it and forgot to name it.. i dont want it to be “spot” forever…
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 1:10 am
This is frickin retarded. When I play farmville I actually want to play FARMville, not petville. Naming it is one thing, but taking care of it everyday? How the heck am I supposed to be able to afford $5 FV a DAY?!?!?! Especially when they make it so darn hard to get. Honestly, zynga & FV have been pissing me off lately. This just might be the last straw. I expected some $FV to be involved but 65 or 5 a day is ludicrous.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 3:55 am
It is actually quite simple. You do not have to pay 5 farm cash every day to get food
xo
Simply ask your friends to send you some kibble or make a wish every day and you will get your food for free! Easy as that! I also think that it would be a wiser decision to buy the dog with farm cash instead of coins. The coins dog only has 1 day of kibble along with it and it runs away. Whereas the cash dog has 2WEEKS of kibble which is significantly different to the other dog.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 4:39 am
“I like Big Macs. Why does McDonald’s have to charge money for Bic Macs? They should be free, or at least only cost a nickel because otherwise all I do is complain about how much they really cost. Greedy McDonalds!”
Great point! I don’t pay to play but I find no fault with those that do, or Zynga for having it as an option.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 4:44 am
Also, for the last time, the kibble is free. It is a free gift to/from friends. You don’t have to pay $5FV a day for it. If you don’t read the actual post or instructions, can you consider reading the comments???
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 9:00 am
How can i change my dogs name?
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 9:39 am
I’m with Lucy, I forgot to name my puppy and he’s not answering very well to SPOT
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 11:07 am
This is simple people.
1. Get free kibble from your friends.
2. Buy coin dog
3. You have 24 hours AFTER your dog gets hungry to feed him. No need to get up at 1am.
4. No idea if you can change his name. I would like to know this too so I’m not stuck with “spot” forever.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
@TheBronxLegend – I called you close minded, because you assume that everywhere in the world people get paid what they deserve for their labor and it’s not like that. And come on, maintaining a computer and internet connection is not that expensive – you have to pay for the PC (mine’s 6 years old) once and that’s all. And my internet connection for a month costs less than a dog in farmville, another reason why I find all their FV items unjustifiably expensive. Actually I don’t give a **** about the dogs – I’ll buy the coin one and I’ll be perfectly happy with it, I mean all other things. Because I started the game when it was still REALLY for free and it was boring as hell. Then they enriched the game play and introduced the thing with the LE items, which made the game interesting, so if one has to stick to what they give us for free, it’ll be boring again. It is just disheartening to see that every cool new item is for real cash. I’m doing perfectly well without them, it’s the whole unfairness that gets on my nerves: one cool limited edition item (like the Museum or the Haunted House) costs the same as a ticket for concert (well, not an AC/DC or U2 concert, but still) or an original album. Well, I find this really greedy. I know Zynga have to get some cash for their work, but a pixelated house which DOES NOTHING and doesn’t even exists for REAL just CAN’T cost as much as a Beatles’ album!!!
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
bought my puppie yesterday and fed it right after. today when i came back on the farm to feed it again it was not there. the weird thing is that the market does not show that i have reached the limit of onne dog. so what about that 300000 coins ipayd? will the puppy come back or is it gone with the cash and i need to buy a new one? and how do i know that this one will not dissapear also?
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 3:42 pm
Ok. Wow. What do you guys do when you have a REAL problem? lol
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 4:19 pm
Does anyone know how long the dog can be hungry for before it runs away?
As soon as I saw the puppies I freaked out and bought one (quite late at night, I might add) not realizing I had to feed it every 24 hours or I would have to pay to get it back.
Is it a few hours at least?
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 5:35 pm
I DO have a real problem – that musicians who create real ART get less for their work than the greedy bastards from Zynga.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 6:08 pm
Teddy,
It doesn’t make sense to take such a thing personally. Perhaps your anger is rooted elsewhere. ( I hope you aren’t a person who is simply resentful when someone else is making money.)
Think of this….
Many authors write and publish quality books and literature. Such books are available for sale in the open market.
At the same time,
Some individuals collect and publish exaggerated gossip, embarrassing photos and scandalous information about the lives of “Hollywood people”.
While I personally find it a societal shame that latter publications are profitable, I ask the question: “Who is to blame?”
I’m certain we can all agree on this…without readers, the latter publications would not exist. There is a lot of “junk” in all forms, sold and bought in this country. Blame the junk BUYERS, my friend.
It’s also important to realize (and I am a huge advocate of art in general, in all forms) that “Artist” has rarely ever been, and rarely will be a profitable occupation. Many great masters can speak to this. (You probably would agree that Mozart was considerably under paid for his contributions.)
Note: I am willing to bet that very few people actually invest in Farm Dollars. Like myself, most play for free, in spare time.
Smile.
Posted on April 9th, 2010 at 11:56 pm
Look, i am greatful that zynga made a free version of the puppy, so if you guys have a problem feeding it so thats your problem, and the time before it runs away is 24 hours
that way u have 2 days to feed it.
if u cant feed it, then pay 12$ thats not too much if u dont have another choice
do the math, u averagely earn that much in one hour of work. and a 12 yr old child gets at least 5 times more than that as alowance
dont forget zynga is a company not a charity
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 5:30 am
Don’t buy the dog for 300,000 coins. Was an hour late for the second feeding and it had ran to the pound. Seriously. Am I gonna have to feed the freaking puppy at the EXACT SAME TIME every freaking day? Don’t think so. I’m not paying 3FV to get the puppy back. As far as I’m concerned Farmville can keep the bloody puppy and my 300,000 coins.
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 10:02 am
Question:
Why do some people store up hundreds of unopened eggs and/or mystery packages on their farms? Why not open them? Just curious.
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
i bought the black farmville collie& i think theye great, mines follows me about even if im blocked away
!
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 4:02 pm
@ Gail: Well this is what we are supposed to do when we have a situation, no? talk it out like adults rather than succumb to evil-doer-ism, lol… I think I just made up a new word!
@ Gail & Wassim: Thank you for making valid points of which I agree with whole heartedly.
@ Teddybear: My friend, I do not assume that people get paid what they deserve for their labor, believe me I know this to not be the case better than most. For example Law Enforcement, Paramedics, Sanitation, and Teachers make less than someone who plays Basketball or Soccer/Football for a living? My fellow brothers and sisters in the armed forces make virtually nothing by comparison and our job description reads something like this “First and last line of defense for a country, expendable at all costs” When you think about it who do you think deserves a better income check, lol. Sadly I have seen alot of hardship and heart ache due to the injustices created by regimes and politicians who in turn control the workforce and economies of nations where in certain circumstances people consider the weight of “donating organs for cash” on the black market, just to make ends meet. So excuse me if I think that your label of being close minded is ‘a tad’ off the mark.
I take it that you truly love music, as all of your arguments center around the topic. I am a music lover and in my youth I myself was in a few garage bands that failed due to the competition, commitment of those involved…. and the prospect of poverty while chasing the dream didn’t help matters either. I am also fond of graphic art and when not freehand sketching, creating tattoo flash, or helping people with their websites I like to create art in photoshop. I have no illusions of ever being wealthy due to my talents but I know that the only way I could possibly get paid for my skills were if I were employed by a company like zynga. However improbable that may ever be, lol.
While I do think you are starting to understand that Zynga has the right as a company not a charity to make money (credit: Wassim) and that if you need to blame someone blame the buyer not the creator (credit:Gail) I feel that you may not be satisfied with this reality and are searching for another answer to your query. All I can offer you is this. Farm Ville is a fun free game, but they have two main customer bases to satisfy. They have the customers who play the game for all its worth as long as it’s free. Farm Ville is now a household name because of sheer number of these customers, and this is how they show their support. Then there are the customers who show monetary support which keeps the game free for everyone and they choose to reward those customers with exclusive items, events and allowances, but to be fair to the customers who have made them popular they have offered similar incentives and access but with less of the bells and whistles. However the one thing they do not do is make it 100% impossible to for everyone to enjoy the game. The only people who find offense with the concept of why everything cant be free or at least cheaper has to understand that the game is made for a certain audience, and whether you agree with it or not, that audience is those who are part of a capitalist society. It is also directed to those in a democratic society, which means if you want it to be free, vote with your wallet. If nobody pays for the items they want then if they want to feature it, they will have to give it away for free, this is in line with what Gail was talking about.
I just hope you find some peace with Farmville and if not you can freely choose to play something else entirely which is your choice and as a side note, if you do choose to play or not to continue to play…do something everyone should do, which is the next time you see a soldier in your country thank him or her for the right you have to do so. That is unless you live…. in one of “those” countries…. lol..
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 4:18 pm
@ Gail … i have often wondered why they dont open them and I did some asking this is what I found out… One popular theory is that they were sure that the contents revolve around what is presently being given at a certain time of the year and are issued randomly, as opposed to being coded to release a specific gift so they think that if they save mystery boxes they received when the items contained were mostly spring items for say their favorite season like winter and open them then they will have a much greater chance of getting what they want faster.. Im not sure this is entirely true, but this is a popular theory.
The other reason I have heard is people are lazy but dont want to loose them so they accept them and place them on their farms to free up room in the gift box. Laziness at this level is insane all they have to do is drag a mouse and click! Insanity I tell ya!
Personally I think people who hoard mystery boxes are hoarders in real life!
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
My puppy is not where to be found??? My farmer is not and has not been fenced in. I also have not dog pound to he buy him?? I have looked and reloaded the game several times?”
Posted on April 10th, 2010 at 5:19 pm
HAha Bronx,
Interesting theories.
If the first one is true, will these be the same folks who have to scramble to take down their Christmas trees and reindeer to make room for their pumpkins and witches?
On the other hand, laziness could be the issue. Perhaps we will soon see farmville social workers sent over from the county, specializing in hoarding disorders, along with the arborists and farmhands, in our gift boxes.
We shall see.
Posted on April 11th, 2010 at 8:16 am
Gail & Bronx: I am not sure if some are “hoarding” mystery gift boxes or that they have not figured out that hitting the cancel option once opened does NOT cancel the gift, but rather just cancels going to free gift page and reloading farm.
I have eggs hidden on my farm and not because I am hoarding. I do this because my kids like to search around the farm for them, open them, and tell me if they like it or not. They have come to learn that the 100 XP is a good one.

How do I change the time I feed my dog? I bought it on a weekend at night, and would like to change it to morning. I did not feed the dog for a few hours, but the next day it was hungry at the previous time.
I have a sheepdog.
Please help.
Posted on April 12th, 2010 at 7:00 am
After the 24 hour time between feedings, dog will be HUNGRY for another 24 hours. (It will show a thought bubble with a picture of it’s food. That’s how you’ll know it is hungry.) Once it shows as hungry, hold cursor over the dog to show a timer which counts down the time until he runs away. So… as someone stated earlier on this site, you actually have 24 hours between feedings before dog decides to take a hike.

if you buy a puppy with coins and it runs away, and you pay farmcash to get your puupy back can it run away agian?
PLEASE HELP
Posted on April 12th, 2010 at 4:33 pm
After you feed it the required 14 times, it won’t run away. Perhaps it grows into a full grown dog?? Not sure yet about that.

There should be a slogan “you don’t have to jump to conclusions to play Farmville, but it helps”.
The answers are here but people just can’t be bothered to read them.
You have 24 hours to feed the dog, you don’t have to sit up and feed it to the exact minute
You use food which is gifted by friends, you do not have to buy it
As someone has pointed out, this is a free game, if you want to pay to play it is a personal choice but not obligitory. It isn’t exactly going to ruin your life if you don’t have the correct colour of virtual puppy.
Posted on April 15th, 2010 at 5:44 am
So… I am here and no puppy. Nor what to do next to get the puppy…
What is next?
Posted on April 15th, 2010 at 9:01 am
Oooh, a doghouse would be a great idea! We should have that on Farmville!

Ok…..I got this far….and still no dog ?????? I don’t understand…..
Posted on April 15th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
The last few folks may be referring to the various “free puppy” scam groups on Facebook. They make you jump through hoops, read ads, maybe charge your phone, and in the end – no free puppy. Those scams are NOT run by Zynga, they are just people who want to show you ads and rip you off. Ditto the pages offering mega-jumbo farm expansions… keep on dreaming!
Nice to know that YOU HAVE 24 HOURS AFTER HE GETS HUNGRY TO FEED YOUR PUPPY!
(in case the next person here is too lazy to read the whole thread like I did to find out what I came here to find out!)
Posted on April 15th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
What happens when I go on vacation next week and have no access to the Internet – lose my puppy I guess…
Posted on April 15th, 2010 at 10:54 pm
The one thing I just wanted to find out is if anyone knows whether the coin puppy will run away once it’s grown up? I choose not to spend my hard-earned moulah on this game even though I could, so I’m happy to put up with the limitations that come with that choice. That being said, there’s a limit to the limitations I’ll tolerate, and that includes being punished by having to pay cash for not logging every day.
I can probably find a 14 day stretch when I’ll be home or at least have access to a computer every day, but if it’s going to go on indefinitely it’s utterly not worth the effort. So, do we know yet, will the coin puppy still run away when he’s grown up?

COME ON ZYNGA LET US UPGRADE AND NOT WITH FARMVILLE CASH EITHER… LET US USE COINS INSTEAD!!! OR WE COULD ALL JUST BOYCOTT FARMVILLE AND NEVER BUY ANYTHING AGAIN

I think the puppy I purchased with coins will end up being the reason I stop playing! I “found” a dog 4 times on YoVille, took care of it, and they “took it back”…I was traumatized by it! Love dogs, hope mine doesn’t end up costing me this game!
Posted on April 16th, 2010 at 8:05 pm
I love farmville. There are times I am disappointed because some really cool stuff comes up and it is only available with FV cash. There must be another way to get the cash or eliminate things that can only be bought with FV cash. I used up the few dollars I had on the my horse stable or maison. I have accumulated over a million coins at the level I am at, but only have 9 FV cash……..I think you will find a lot of other players who would get so much enjoyment if you could find a way to make improvements.
Thanks for allowing some comments

We are all so hyped about feeding the puppies and what we do with them that no one has had the decency to think:
What happens to the puppy after 14 days?
When its an adult, do we continue feeding it?
How many times do we feed the adult?
What special ability does the coin dog contain?

Posted on April 16th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
Good grief, don’t people who have questions read the comments?? It’s all been said so many times. No more feeding after 14 days. No feeding at all when they are adults. If you bought your dog at night and it is hungry at night… go to sleep and feed in the morning or whenever it is convenient for you… sheesh! You have 24hrs. to feed it and another 24hrs. before it runs away… that’s a whole 48hrs. and if it should run away, you can get them back.
The people who joined to get a free puppy and were led to this site… you got ripped off. You joined a scam site who will now be billing your cell phone ten bucks a month. Sorry…
As for the egg hoarding…..I save the eggs from easter basket on my farm because I want the farmhands and the Arborists but don’t want them in my gift box. I need all the space in the gift box. So I open the eggs as needed for harvesting.

Well SuzieO, no one has answered my question yet, and I have in fact read the whole thing! Does anyone know if adult coin dogs will continue to run away, or do they only do that for the 14 days of puppyhood?
Posted on April 17th, 2010 at 2:42 am
thank youu
Posted on April 17th, 2010 at 3:16 am
My puppy went to the pound because the game won’t load to let me feed him. I wish they will let us feed the puppy before its time for feeding cos sometimes the game just won’t . Its not fair to be penalized because of this.

I don’t understand why we just don’t get these for free anyway. Always trying to take advantage of people. I’m ready to quit all of it. There’s always a gimmick. Farmville should be ashamed of themselves. All the hype about pets and of course it’s a costly gimmick for anyone stupid enough to pay money…Shame on you farmville!!!

Posted on April 17th, 2010 at 9:00 am
Elwin, I think i did answer your question…. I said that you only feed the puppies for 14 days and then they become adults. Puppies only run away if they are not fed. When they are adults they do NOT need to be fed so why would they run away???
FV has given us 3fv cash for free. If a person wanted to buy a puppy and not hassle with feeding every day, they could buy the puppy, not feed, not come back to the game for 2 weeks or if farming then ignore the pop ups to get your puppy out of the pound, and then when you are ready… use the 3 free fv cash and get the puppy out of the pound.
I think FV was trying to make it work like a crop that you harvest every 24hrs. for 2 weeks.
I hope the people who bought their puppies late at night will just feed them in the morning or whenever…. you have 2 days from the last feeding before they run away. FV was trying to make it so you didn’t lose sleep.
Posted on April 17th, 2010 at 9:02 am

SuzieO: THANKS FOR A VOICE OF REASON! lol Also, it’s nice to finally understand the reason for the giant collections of eggs. Good idea!
For the rest of you…. if your IQ matches your Farmville level, it might not be the best use of your free time.
If you a person who is resentful because Farmville is too expensive for unemployed people to play, then again, maybe it’s not the best use of your time. (Perhaps you should complain to your local video rental that your movies should be free since you do not have a job. ?) … I’m just sayin’…
And…. for those who are in a state of panic over this game, you might want to try something less challenging. (Dominoes and Pop-It are free on yahoo.) Or … have about two fingers of bourbon before you fire up your farm.
I mean, wow… I play only a few minutes a day…(cause I also have “real” stuff to do, although, sometimes I don’t want to do all those things, but that’s different story, entirely), have never purchased a Farmbuck, my farm is thriving, my dog has been sittin’ in my Farmville front yard since the moment I bought it and said “Stay.”, and it’s name is a non-issue since I won’t ever actually have to “call it”, due to the fact that it is simply a cartoon drawing.
Further, I’m not biting my fingernails to the nub, worrying that said dog will run away, because if it does, my life will not be changed in any way. Besides, if it does run away, it probably means it found some place where it will be happier. Perhaps I’ll catch it lazing around on one of my neighbors farms, living the good life! (In fact, if my “real” dog ran away, it would be a lot less work for me, and my carpet would actually be clean!! ) j/k lol Calm down, all. I love my dog, and he would totally understand my comments since he is well aware of how guilty he is of RUG ABUSE! They’re smarter than they let on…
Take care… gotta go “do” some “things”.
(giggle)

I bought the coin dog. It’s not so bad. Make sure you buy it at a time when you can get to your farm. The minute you place the puppy on your farm, that’s when you’ll have to feed him daily. It won’t run away for almost 24 hours after it’s due to be fed. If you arrow over him it says feed now, 23:50 , counts down to zero I guess. So you do have a 24 hour (almost) grace period. If you feed the dog late, you don’t get a whole 24 hours till it needs fed again. It’s still “programmed” to want fed at the same time that you first bought it.
Posted on April 20th, 2010 at 4:19 pm
lets see,
for the coin dog:
5 cash a day
X 14 days
————————–
70 cash
– 1 days free kible
————————–
65 farm cash
65 farm cash + 300,000 coins AND the risk of it running away and having to
pay 3 more farm cash to save it.
for the farm cash dog:
65 farm cash
Posted on April 20th, 2010 at 8:14 pm
I fed the 300k puppy for 14 days and it has not grown up and is telling me it is hungry in 24 hours. So why the 14 day thing if you will have to feed it daily forever or bail it out of the pound. Wish they had been upfront with what to expect. Refuse to spend my hard earned money on a game, so guess I will end up giving up the pup.
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 12:40 am
Basically I have the same problem as Kathy – I am quite concerned and hope that they fix it soon – I don’t want my border collie to stay a puppy forever!
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 6:25 am
Just fed my coin puppy the last required feed (No. 14, that is) so now the stat says when I go over the dog with the cursor “14/14″ and underneath “hungry in 23:31″
I would never spend framville cash on this game (ie: buying it through pay pal or whatever) and spending coins is not a big deal but there is a violation of a principle that pisses me off. Namely, if they advertise it that you need to feed the puppy 14 days straight then it should be 14 ****ing days, not 15 or whatever.
And to wise asses like SuziO: no, it is NOT clear what happens to the coin puppy at the end of the feeding period, it’s never been written down explicitly, the wording as to what the deal is with the coin puppies is so ambiguous that you CAN (and you will) assume things. You (just as I did) assumed that after the 14 days you’d have a happy bouncy adult dog who you do not have to feed and won’t run away either. Well, before telling others how idiotic they are for not understanding this please you should think twice how much YOU know, and note that the puppy actually a, did not grow up b, needs more feed and c, there is a possibility that it runs away if I refuse to feed him after his 14th feed.
So anyone who’s intending to buy the coin puppy for 300k (I believe there’s a similar deal with a 5K puppy) be prepared to have at least one neighbour who sends you a kibble every friggin day, so you can keep up with feeding the fleabag.
I’ll check back with updates
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 6:42 am
My puppy didn’t grow either.
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 9:40 am
Same here, feed the puppy 14 times, it’s still hungry and won’t grow up… They should really debug thoroughly before they promote these “buggy” virtual products.
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 11:51 am
Same here. I have diligently fed my puppy for 14 days and says it will be hungry again and didn’t grow up. Let the darn thing run away if you still have to fed it all the time. This is crap. 300k is a lot to waste on a dog that will run away even after the 14 days. they should have been up front.

Same thing.. I fed the puppy 14 times, and it didn’t grew up.. Do I need to “magically” feed it a 15th time? LOL.
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 5:29 pm
i’m on here now as I was wondering why my pup did not grow upafter 14 DAYS FEEDING. And, as #248 GEEST said, the INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT CLEAR – clear as mud—too much assumption. I am educated and can read instructions well, at least if they are there. SO, when does puppy adulthood hit?
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 5:39 pm
If we feed the dog for 14 days will it be permanent then? Or should we keep on feeding for life? If that is the case then I better have a live dog in my home rather than in a farm inside my computer… I will get a nice goodlooking puppy just in the corner of my street for FREE….
I fed the Puppy for 14 days even though the farmville was bloody stuck for 6 days and it took 5 hours to load every day.. I fed the puppy regularly with much difficulty and its still hungry and FARMVILLE is still not loading Properly…
What the heck am I supposed to do now… feed my kids or wait to feed this stupid Puppy even after after 14 days…??????
Posted on April 21st, 2010 at 8:50 pm
i am also concerned as to just how long my puppy will require feed, and if it will ever grow up? bought another puppy for just 5000 coins, but i don’t want to have to feed forever. and although cute, i would like it to grow up someday.
going on day 15 now.
and all the puppy feed takes up so much room in my gifts. so now i am not transferring it.
call me nuts, but i had the whole family gather round to see my full grown “dog” after the 14th feeding. nothing.
i feel sad right now. i can hardly get into farmville via whatever route. can’t visit neighbors, as they won’t load and they and i are just ghosts. my co-op partners were named “???” and “???” harvested the most crops.
i think i will just get all my buildings out of storage, as i can’t enlarge my farm anymore; and have a dozen plots instead of over 450 plots and make it all look pretty.
i’ll visit from time to time, planting 3 day crops, and move on to something better.
i really loved this game! what happened? glitches i expect, but not every 2 or 3 days, lasting heaven knows how long. and i just sit here waiting to load, then reload, and on and on……
i am so sad.

Guess it’s fixed! At first the “time to feed” just resets itself once it reached zero, but I just checked now and the puppy has grown up
However, now it need treats (thought not required) to level up for it to be anything useful other than being cute.

What is the time window you have to feed your dog? I dont want to wait up till 2am every morning to feed. Is there a window of time like there is befor crops wither, etc. Once the prompt switches to “feed now” how much time do we have to actuall feed? Thanks.

When I got onto farmville today my pup was still a baby, was hungry (feed in 6 hrs) but a message popped up.
I quote:
“Your puppies can now grow up! Well fed pups will transform into adults after 14 days. Adult dogs are able to perform fun tricks and actions that can help you out on the farm!”
Now we are talking. So “NOW” they “CAN” grow up, in fact they “WILL” transform into adult dogs. I hope not many people spent FVcash on buying extra kibble.
Need to wait 6 hrs till I can feed the dog with feed NO. 15, hopefully that (or simply the countdown) will provide me with an adult dog. If not, puppy will be sold.
Posted on April 22nd, 2010 at 12:23 pm
Didn’t need to feed, turned into an adult dog when the clock counted down.
300k coin dog’s first trick (for 1 treat – have it sent to you as a free gift) is rolling over. Second, playing dead 3 treats (meaning 3 days), but it let me feed him on the day it completed the first trick. Rule is clear, if you break the streak, you can start all over again.
Happy dog growing and framville please keep up with the clear rules, instructions and whatnot.

DOG TURNED BACK INTO PUPPY FOR NOT GIVING IT A TREAT!!!!!
I fed my puppy religiously for the required 14 days, and it turned into a dog yesterday morning. Immediated, the Treat Feed Me message came on. Didn’t feed it a treat because I didn’t care about tricks. This morning, my dog turned back into a puppy with a 0/14 fed count and a Feed Now message. It’s as if the Treat Feed Me message mistakenly turned into a Kibble Feed Me message with the countdown starting when the Treat Feed Me message popped up. I have 3 minutes left. I think my dog-turned-back-to-puppy is about to run away. If that happens, I’m done with Farmville.
Posted on April 24th, 2010 at 7:52 am
DOG IS BACK!
So my puppy-dog disappeared. I left and came back to see if I’d get any strange messages about it running away or what-not. My DOG is back and now says “Level 1″. Have no idea what this means, but at least I know I will still be playing. Actually, I should quit anyway. What a ridiculous time-suck this game is . . .
Posted on April 24th, 2010 at 6:15 pm
What happens when I go on vacation? Can I get a vacation package for my dogs or can I place them into Vacation mode? Also how come we can’t give our dogs treats when they do tricks for us?
Posted on April 26th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
So I bought a border collie but it ran away to the pound and I don’t have enough FV cash to get it back so I bought a terrier type thing. She’s disappeared. What is meant by blocking or unblocking your farmer? How do you look for it amongst all your items? I have a gizillion trees and animals, that would take seriously, FOREVER to do. This is retarded. My second dog hasn’t run away, at least I haven’t gotten a notice it’s done this.

I bought a terrier and I forgot to feed it but there isn’t a button that has my puppy behind bars plz help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I bought a coin dog and have fed it for 14 days without missing a feeding. Here’s the issue I have though. Dog has not grown and continues needing fed each day when it shows 14/14 times fed. I wish I could get my coins back for the dog because after feeding him for 14 days I shouldn’t have to continue feeding him each day so he doesn’t run away. Dog supposedly only needed fed for 14 days and I am on day 17 now. Disappointing to say the least. Additionally, my dog is not blocked and my avatar is not blocked as well. Any ideas?

hi guys
i hav a problem
i hav 2 dogs which r 300,000 and 5,000 ones but even after i hav fed my puppy its not growin up……………….
wat to do guys …….:(
Posted on May 4th, 2010 at 3:43 pm
I fed my puppy for the 14 days required, and now it’s gone. I’m going to be pissed if it just vanished. What’s happening? The little pound symbol isn’t there.
Posted on May 5th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Pound symbol: if it’s not there on the side, try to get into the Market tab, find animals>pets and don’t forget to click on the arrow, the pound is on the last page
My 300K doggy is grown up, on level 4. I bought a 5K doggy too but the engine didn’t let me in for 3 days AGAIN so my 5K dog is in the pound AGAIN but this time it stays there, not gonna waste more FV cash on it.
In fact I haven’t been on farmville at all after I’d discovered that the dog was imprisoned and it wasn’t even my fault (ie. neglected it and didn’t feed it) but the incompetence of the game engine. Farmville just wouldn’t load for 4 days, either got stuck around 95% (judging how much space was left in the bar under the farmville pic) or told me to upgrade adobe (that was no use either, I had the most recent upgrade anyway). Even when I managed to get in it was so slow that it was pure agony.
So sorry farmville, I’ll withdraw “I like” and “bookmark this” and not only I won’t be a dedicated farmer but any farmer at all.
I know other people send shed loads to your pockets, you should have the courtesy to at least let them on the game and play. Sort yourselves out.

Posted on May 7th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
i purchased the red border colie with 300k coins.. yet it didnt let me name my pet.. (the whole reason i bought it was so it could have my real dogs name) but it wouldent let my type anything in the box for the pets name.. this sucks

Good news for those folks whose dog ‘disappeared’. I thought mine was gone too, but it defaulted to the top corner of my farm and was behind my chicken coop!! Click it and tell it ‘move’, then click again to ‘allow follow’…
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 3:24 pm
Both my dogs are adults..now it is saying I have to feed them again!! I thought when they were grown we didn’t have to feed them anymore..
Posted on May 27th, 2010 at 4:07 pm
Hey people, I was just wondering… My puppy has grown up already, and while learning the last trick “Herd”, it says my dog is tired and it will be a few days until she feels confident enough to perform the trick”
Now… I fed the damned puppy for 14 days with kibble… Dog grew up, and after giving dog treats over other 14 days, it’s still “tired” and won’t perform any other new trick…
Sucks…

I was learning the new tools and my dog ran in front and I deleted her. Please help

My dog went to the pound…and I left it there. Then magically one day it reappeared on my farm. Now for the second time…..my puppy is in the pound. Somehoe I got my timing off and it went a second time. I am waiting to see if it comes out by itself again. I am wanting to say it had been in a week when it came back. I don’t know if anyone else has had this happen?
Posted on June 24th, 2010 at 9:05 am
When do i have to stop feeding my dogs treats? I think that this has to stop sometime, ive had my dog for over 2 months
Posted on July 9th, 2010 at 6:00 pm
I bought 2 dogs. 1 for like 5000 coins and 1 for 300000. At level 5 they learn harvest. The cheaper of the two harvests ducks and the other harvests 20 animals. Do they level up any further and do they learn any other tricks if I keep feeding them biscuits? I didn’t think they did because they no longer say they are hungry! The only thing I don’t like about it is I thought for like a week after I bought the second dog the first was gone. Then noticed that he was among a bunch of the other animals. Once you click on harvest you have to click on allow to follow or put him someplace you can see him.

went to buy a second puppy today and was looking at them and this site automatically took 65 fv dollars and I did not get a dog at all. Then I went to buy another collie and it would not let me name her. I do not want her to be named spot. How can I change this. It also tood the 65 fv bucks this time also. Please restore the 65 it took from me and let me rename Spot

One thing I wish they offered was letting your friends feed your dog if you have kibble. I’m having no trouble getting kibble from my friends and I think that if you have the kibble a friend should be able to come and feed your dog when it’s time. I’m doing something Friday night and don’t think i’ll be home so i’m going to have to give someone my password so they can go on to my account and feed my dog. It would be so much easier if they could just come and fertilze my crops, feed my chickens, and feed my dog. I used to do the Foo Pets and your friends can come and feed your pet. They really need to add that option

the game is great! I just came here because a google search for “change dog’s name” posted this page as the top hit.
weird, but not at all surprised at the haters ツ omg. i know already so many, some envious, some ignorant, , , not important.
to those dudes/dolls, it’s free, don’t bail, if it begins to feel like work, slow the farmk down!
it’s an amazingly amusing and theraputical way of socializing. especially now that sign-post msgs quit crashing into endless out-of-sync loops.
enjoy! i do!!!

I bought the dog for the 300,000 coins and everything worked fine. I fed it for the 14 days with kibble I was sent from my friends. After that I had to give it treats for a bunch of days and now it takes care of my animals when they are ready to harvest. I love that I don’t have to do anything after the 14 days and the dog treats

As with all the e-games that are available on FB, all I ever see are ppl whining about is the cost of cash items. Zynga, being the largest of the game publishers, is particularly hated. A poster named Yu Ma Ma even had this to say up yonder some place in the comments:
Yu Ma Ma Says:
Posted on April 7th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
“For every paying player who says “you know, 65 is just too much,” there’s one who says “I absolutely have to have one of every kind.””
And those are the people who should be shot, because they frack the game up for the rest of us.
The first part, s/he was obviously quoting someone else who had posted, but the firing squad suggestion was all their own.
It would be super special if ppl like Yu Ma Ma quit whining about the cost of cash items cuz I got news for him/her & others like them:
If you wanna take the folks out who actually buy items with purchased FV cash or coins, then you can log off your game RIGHT NOW & kiss your farm goodbye. These ppl who buy cash items are the same ppl supporting Zynga’s developers & allowing you to PLAY FOR FREE. If no one bought cash items or currency, then FV & the other Zynga FB games would NOT be free & would likely be a one-time fee type of game or would be subscription services. I can’t think of a single online free2play game that does not have some form of premium item option, subscription alternative, or cash item option… bc game developers like to eat too!
I think some companies take cash items too far (are you reading this, SuperPokePets developers, cuz I’m talking to YOU) by taking it to the point where no one can buy anything really truly nice or animated in any way at all without premium game currency. Zynga has yet to reach this point. The dogs are not a necessity to play the game, they are simply something lots of folks seem to be dying to get & even at $300,000, they are still accessible to everyone (since launch there is now a $5,000 coin one to shut up low lvl farmers). So quit whining & go plant some frickin crops to lvl up & buy one.
THREE CHEERS FOR PPL WITH DISPOSABLE INCOME!
Hurray!
Hurrah!
Huzzah!
TY FOR KEEPING MY GAMES FREE, cuz God knows I can’t afford sh*t. LOL

Can you feed your coin dog earlier than 24 hours or do you have to wait til exactly 24?
Also, how often do I have to feed it after the 14 day period?(Or however long it is.)

Why is my puppy don’t want to eat but he is hungry? His breed is a Terrier. When i went back to my farmville, my dog began to run, i pay 2 farm cash to retrieve it, but he is hungry again, i can’t feed him. Why?

I lost my Dog in real life I’m too old to start over with another dog . When I join Farmville, I see on some of my friends they have dogs that run. I have talked to them and they said if they’re dogs had puppies they would sell me one. I would really love to have one…
Sold for coins they said they paid ,I WOULD AGREE COINS would be the way to go.
Would you PLEASE bring them back, with the same rules you had before!!
I love playing Farmville,I would even love it More>>>>
Please reconsider……..
Thankyou, mcmasterkaren at yahoo.com
I sure hope to here from you..
